Middleton vs. Wayne Co.

Though Wayne Co. has been in this position before, Middleton wasn't scared of this highly touted team from southern Middle Tennessee. Middleton did get off to a slow start, but they came roaring back with an impressive 2nd quarter, turning up the defense and hitting some timely shots. If you know anything about these Lady Wildcats, they are a squad that doesn't go away easily. As they clawed back into the game, Middleton had another gear that kept them at bay.

Middleton advances with a 44-39 victory.

Richland vs. Greenfield

Two teams that came into the game on an impressive hot streak. Both teams had outstanding guard play throughout the season, so you knew right from the start it was all about who could execute and make timely shots. It was all about pace and space, which enabled both teams to go to work. There weren't a lot of fast break points at the start; it was more about who converted within their offense. It was a slow-scoring game at the half, with Greenfield up 17-14. In the 2nd half, it was all about being intentional with your efforts and making the extra effort plays. Richland did just that, scoring 14 points off 2nd-chance opportunities. Holding Greenfield to 0 points in the 4th, it's Richland that advances to the championship game.

Loretto vs. York Institute

Two teams that both bring a balanced attack into the fold. These two talented teams have outstanding guard play, wings that can score, and a presence down low. This game was neck-and-neck throughout and featured a total of 7 lead changes. This game was tight with the winner being the one who converted down the stretch. It came down to who won the battle in the painted area and capitalized on turnovers. This game went down to the wire with everyone in attendance and watching on television holding their breath during the final seconds. York, displaying their veteran leadership, prevails and holds off a talented Lady Mustangs team.

York wins 43-41.

Huntingdon vs. Gatlinburg-Pittman

Right from the start, this game turned ugly quickly. Playing some inspired basketball, HHS was focused on putting down a strong Lady Highlanders team. Huntingdon was on a mission and stuck to their game plan as they pounded the paint, scoring 34 buckets around the rim. They pretty much dominated every quarter, leaving GP with little to no hope.

Huntingdon advances, winning 65-43

She was in her bag for Middleton as she put her club on her back and took off. She was all gas, no brakes, as she lit the net on fire. Aggressive on the attack, she kept getting to the rim with ease and taking it to her opponents. Finishing with 28 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals, she led her club in multiple statistical categories. She's a kid who is coming on strong and looks for her to put together performances like this during the tournament and beyond.
