Best 3-Point Shooters of 1A State Tournament

Out of the eight teams that went to the Glass House with a shot at a state title in the Class of 1A, many players stood out with their perimeter shooting. Here are some of the 3-point snipers from the Class of 1A in the state tournament.      Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1133790' first='Abigail' last='Netherton'] stood out in her lone game at this year's state tournament.   Nethrton for her Van Buren County High School team dropped a game-high 20 points, in a 41-40 loss against Greenfield High School in the first round. Within the 20 points, Nethrton had six of them come from distance, with her making two 3-pointers.   In the 1A class, Netherton has one of the most dynamic offensive games. She can create separation to help her get good shot attempts with her dribble moves. She is definitely a player to know going into the 2026-2027 season.     Despite being eliminated in the first round as a sophomore at Greeneville High School, Eva Leonard made sure to show she was one of the best shooters in attendance at Murfreesboro.   Leonard, in her team's first round bout against Middleton High School, made three 3-pointers. Outside of Leonard's shooting, she also has other facets of her game that could lead her to be a name to know in the TN prep hoops scene for the remainder of her high school career. Leonard is a solid rebounder and is also elite on defense at creating turnovers. In the regular season, she had multiple games with three or more steals. This includes the game against Middleton at state, where she had three steals.     In Richland's road to a runner-up finish at the state tournament, senior [player_tooltip player_id='1234197' first='Mary' last='Avery McNeese'] played a big role.   In the first two games of the state tournament, McNeese combined for four makes from distance. She made two in each game, going up against Coalfield and Greenfield High School.   McNeese, as a shooter, can make shots well off the line. She also sets her feet quickly to the basket, allowing her to get into her jumper quickly. McNeese can also make difficult shots, especially if she sees a shot go down before a tough shot attempt.     Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='893825' first='Ella' last='Porter'] is definitely a player to keep track of going into the 2026-2027 school season.   For Porter's first go at the state tournament, she played well. In the two games her Greenfield High School team played, she made three 3-pointers. Two of these makes came in her first round game against Van Buren High School, and her other make came in the semis against Richland.   Porter's effectiveness from shooting behind the arc also translates to the midrange. Also, at 5'9", Porter is good at playing off the dribble and can score and create offense in the paint. This should continue to grow as a strength of her offensive game moving on in her high school career.       Senior [player_tooltip player_id='899901' first='Kemora' last='Buggs'] performed well in her final games with Middleton High School at the state tournament.   The attempts Buggs took from distance in the three games Middleton played were limited, but she did do some damage. She made three 3-pointers in total at the tournament, making one in each game she played.   Buggs' game is dynamic beyond her 3-point shooting. She likes to create offense off the dribble, especially going downhill. Her aggressive offense is also present in her defensive game as well. Through the three games at the state tournament, Buggs had a total of 11 steals.
