They had some bright spots for the future of their program. This includes the play of sophomore Millie Latham.

In the first round for Loretto, Latham put up one of the better shooting performances from long distance out of any player in the tournament. She made four threes in the contest.

As just a sophomore, Latham is a player to know moving forward in the TN prep hoop scene. She is a confident shooter and, as shown in the lone tournament game, is also an accurate one, going 4-6 from distance.

[player_tooltip player_id='435647' first='Maliyah' last='Glasper'] unsurprisingly had a strong showing at the state tournament, with her 3-point shooting being highlighted while at Murfreesboro.

Glasper, in the two games she played at MTSU, had a combined six makes from distance. In the first round against Gibson County, she had two makes. In the second round against Huntingdon, she had four makes.

With Glasper's high school career now in the rearview, it was an impressive one. Her scoring skillset when it comes to shooting off the catch, and her three-level scoring ability off the dribble, at times makes her borderline unguardable. This led her to be the 2A Mrs. Basketball winner for TN.

On York Institute's run to an appearance in the state final, senior [player_tooltip player_id='816715' first='Emma' last='Pile'] continually stood out.

In all three of the games they played at Murfreesboro, all the point margins were eight points or below. In the tightly contested games, they needed some players to hit big shots. This was especially true in their two-point win in the semi-finals against Loretto. The senior Pile was ready for this moment.

She went on to score a game-high 19 points, which included her going 4-7 from distance. Pile as a shooter is mainly just a catch-and-shoot threat. But in this, she can break games with her shooting. This was seen in a game against Monterey High School in her junior season, where she made 15 three-pointers. Pile is also capable of creating points in the paint and does not shy away from contact. Against Loretto in this year's state tournament, she had an and-one layup.

With junior [player_tooltip player_id='822269' first='Sophie' last='Weathers'] still on Loretto's basketball team for the 2026-2027 season, they could very well end up back at the state tournament.

While at the Glass House, Weathers was one of the most efficient 3-point shooters. This feat was extra impressive given the number of attempts she took through two games.

In the two bouts, she attempted 10 three-pointers and made eight of them. This included a 4-4 performance in the state semi-finals against Pile and the York Institute.

Weathers has a good feel for her jumpshot, allowing her to score effectively in the midrange as well. She has a high-arcing jumper with a high release point on her shot, allowing her to be less of a threat to being blocked than the typical high school player.

Huntingdon High School is the 2A state champion, and sophomore SG Grier Bartholomew is a big reason for it.

Bartholomew made sure her long-range shooting had an impact in every game she played. In all three outings she made at least one three-pointer. Her best shooting performance from distance in the tournament came against the York Institute in the state finals. In the game, Bartholomew went 4-7 from three.

Bartholomew is also mainly a catch-and-shoot shooter and is elite at being one. She moves around the perimeter and finds open space well, and when she gets an open look, she is not afraid to take it. Against York in what ended up being a 43-41 win, Bartholomew made two 3-pointers in the tightly contested game in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter.
