[player_tooltip player_id='513233' first='Natalya' last='Hodge'] has been one of the better scorers throughout her high school career in the state of TN. In her final game for Bearden High School in the state tournament, that remained the case.

Hodge against Bartlett High School in the first round of the state tourney, dropped a game-high 31 points. 15 of these points were from threes, as she went 5-11 from behind the arc.

Hodge has elite speed and elite dribbling moves. She can also shoot off the dribble with these skills, which will help her be successful at the college level.

At MTSU, senior guard from Cookeville High School, [player_tooltip player_id='425063' first='Cara' last='Lee Gilbert'], went out strong at the state tournament.

Gilbert's play was integral in her team making it to the state finals and finishing as the 2025-2026 season's state runners-up. At the biggest stage in girls' high basketball in TN, Gilbert was able to be accurate from distance. In three games, she went 7-14 on her 3-pointers. In the semi-final against Bartlett High School and also in the finals against Sevier County, Gilbert made three 3-pointers in each game.

Gilbert's success as a shooter can be equated to her lightning-quick jumper. Through these fast mechanics, her shot stays textbook.

Sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='1155255' first='Jordyn' last='Porter'] had a great shooting performance in her lone game at the state tournament.

Porter had three makes from distance, going 3-5 in the first round game against Cookeville High School. Her jumpshot has good rhythm, and she is more than comfortable from shooting all across the three-point line.

Porter also sees the game well. This leads her to being able to have high-assist games. It also helps her create turnovers on defense by getting steals. Against Cookeville, she had two steals, and in a contest against Independence High School during the season, she had six assists.

Senior [player_tooltip player_id='900276' first='Kaylin' last='Sheffield'] performed at a high-level in her last two high school games at the state tournament.

Sheffield, in the two tournament games, went 4-6 from distance. Her lefty jumper throughout the season generated a large amount of points. She does a great job at setting her feet before she goes into her jumper, playing into her having a consistent shot every attempt she takes.

Sheffield is also a great guard defender. In the state semifinals against Cookeville, she had four steals.

Sevier County High School ended up being the state champions. Helping them accomplish this feat were many standout individual performers, including junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='821733' first='Kaliyah' last='Burden'].

Burden in three games laced in three 3-pointers. This included two makes from distance in the state semi-finals against Blackam High School.

Burden's ability to locate open space and capitalize on these chances makes her a great shooter. Outside of shooting, Burden at the shooting guard position is also an elite rebounder. Through the three games at state, she had a total of 24 rebounds, with 13 of them being offensive. Her highest rebounding game was in the state championship against Cookeville, where she had 13.
