Class 4 State Quarterfinals Down to Final Two

The VHSL Class 4 state tournament continues Saturday with the final two quarterfinal matchups set following the completion of the Region A bracket. Henrico vs. Hampton and Manor vs. Hanover will determine the last two teams advancing to the state semifinals. Both games feature a strong group of playmakers, including multiple all-region selections and emerging young talent. Here are several players to watch as the quarterfinal round wraps up.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Henrico vs. Hampton, 7pm</h2>   Henrico (Region B Champions)    Bennett, a three-time First Team All-Region selection, brings versatility and leadership to Henrico's lineup. The 5'7" wing is a shifty ball handler with tight control, capable of splitting defenders and attacking gaps to finish at the rim. Bennett also excels as a facilitator, reading the floor well and delivering crafty passes to teammates in scoring positions. Her energy and ability to get downhill, even backing down defenders in the paint when needed, make her a constant threat offensively.     Rawlings has established herself as a reliable interior presence and a consistent double-double producer. The First Team All-Region selection is comfortable posting up and calling for the ball, using strong footwork and body positioning to read defenders and create scoring opportunities. Rawlings can back down opponents in the paint and finish effectively around the basket. She also runs the floor well in transition, often filling the middle lane to put herself in position for easy finishes.     Stockton has quickly made an impact on the perimeter for Henrico. The First Team All-Region guard handles the ball with confidence and makes smart entry passes to the post from the wing, helping facilitate offense. Stockton is also a threat from the outside, spotting up in the corner and knocking down open three-pointers with a quick release. In transition, she runs the floor well and shows strong court awareness by finding open cutters moving through the lane.    Hampton (Region A Runner-Ups)    Zuriel has emerged as Hampton's leading scorer and one of the team's most dynamic offensive threats. The 5'6" guard is especially dangerous in transition, where she pushes the pace and finishes fast-break opportunities at the rim. She also has a strong pull-up jumper and shoots comfortably off the dribble, making her difficult to contain in open space. Zuriel can score at all three levels and has shown the ability to finish even against multiple defenders, while also finding teammates on kick-out passes when defenses collapse.     Taylor brings energy and activity to Hampton's backcourt, impacting the game on both ends of the floor. The 5'3" guard helps initiate the offense by bringing the ball up and keeping it moving with quick reversals and smart decisions. Defensively, Taylor's hustle stands out as she looks to create turnovers and turn steals into transition opportunities. Her athleticism, grit, and constant movement make her a spark for the Crabbers throughout the game.     Price helps orchestrate Hampton's offense with strong decision-making and playmaking from the point guard position. The 2027 guard moves the ball well, making the extra pass and reversing the floor to find open shooters for scoring opportunities. Price can also attack the basket from the perimeter, protecting the ball as she navigates through defenders and finishes at the rim. Despite her size, she shows confidence finishing against taller opponents, drawing fouls and getting to the free-throw line. Price is also capable of stretching the defense with three-point shooting while handling the ball and setting the tempo for the Crabbers.     Rogers brings physicality and aggression to Hampton's attack from the wing. The 5'7" forward looks to push the ball up the court and attack the basket with strong, confident takes. Rogers is effective in transition, where she uses her strength to finish through contact and maintain positioning against defenders. Around the rim, she shows good body control and balance, finishing on two feet and using smart positioning to keep defenders behind her for high-percentage scoring opportunities.     Lenard provides Hampton with confident perimeter scoring. Thee 5'8" sophomore shooter stays patient and composed when looking for her shot, highlighted by a performance in February where she knocked down seven consecutive three-pointers and finished with 25 points in a win over Warwick. Lenard can also create offense off the dribble, using a clutch spin move in transition to get to the basket. She stretches the defense with pull-up threes and is capable of drawing contact and getting to the free-throw line.     Wellons adds another versatile scoring option to Hampton's lineup. She is a smooth shooter who is comfortable pulling up for mid-range jumpers or knocking down shots from beyond the arc. Wellons can create offense off the dribble and score at multiple levels, making her a difficult matchup for defenders. Her ability to recognize open space and make smart decisions with the ball helps keep Hampton's offense flowing.    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Manor vs. Hanover, 7pm</h2>   Manor (Region A Champions)    Brown, a First Team All-District selection, has been a driving force in Manor's postseason run. In the regional semifinals against Warhill, she delivered an impressive all-around performance with 25 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals. Brown is a shifty ball handler with tight control who can push the pace, attach the basket, and facilitate for teammates. Her ability to score at all three levels, finishing at the rim or knocking down perimeter shots, makes her a constant offensive threat. Combined with her floor vision, communication, and leadership, Brown plays a key role in setting the tone for Manor.     Babb, a First Team All-District selection, has quickly emerged as one of Manor's most dynamic young playmakers. In the regional semifinals against Warhill, she posted 23 points, 5 assists, and 8 steals, showcasing her impact on both ends of the floor. Babb is a shifty guard with strong handles and quickness, capable of blowing past defenders and finishing through contact in the lane. She can also stretch the defense by knocking down three-pointers and pulling up off the dribble. With her confidence, scoring ability at all three levels, and strong court awareness, Babb brings a high basketball IQ to Manor's backcourt.     Jones, a Second Team All-District selection, provides Manor with a strong interior presence and consistent production. In the regional semifinals against Warhill, she recorded a dominant double-double with 12 points, 16 rebounds, and 5 blocks, continuing a trend of multiple double-double performances this season. Jones positions herself well around the basket and looks to make herself available for scoring opportunities, whether on the block or by finding space on the perimeter. She can step out and knock down jumpers, including three-pointers, showing her ability to stretch the floor. Jones also runs the floor in transition, getting ahead of the play for fast-break finishes while using smart positioning to capitalize on open space.     Eason adds versatility and offensive creativity to Manor's lineup. In the regional semifinals against Warhill, she finished with 13 points and 4 rebounds while helping control the flow of the game. Eason can handle the ball up the floor and attack from the perimeter, reading the defense to identify gaps before driving to the basket. She uses pump fakes effectively to shift defenders out of position, creating space for short jumpers or strong takes to the rim. With her ability to split defenders, protect the ball on drives, and find open teammates, Eason provides Manor with another well-rounded offensive playmaker.     Gatling, an All-District Honorable Mention selection, adds size and versatility to Manor's lineup. The 5'9" forward runs the floor well in transition, positioning herself for fast-break opportunities and finishing strong at the rim. Gatling can also handle the ball and push the pace, showing the ability to facilitate or kick the ball out to open teammates when defenses collapse. She protects the ball well on drives, splitting defenders on her way to the basket for finishes. With the ability to score inside, attack off the dribble, and knock down perimeter shots, Gatling gives Manor another multi-level scoring option.    Hanover (Region B Runner-Ups)    The Region 4B Player of the Year, Bournes is the engine behind Hanover's offense and a true all-around playmaker. The 5'7" combo guard can score at all three levels, whether popping out to the top of the key or wing to knock down threes or attacking inside with physical finishes at the rim. Bournes is relentless on the glass, creating second-chance opportunities with putbacks and strong interior play despite her guard position. She also facilitates within the offense, including running high-low action and delivering well-timed passes to teammates. With her athleticism, defensive hustle in transition, and ability to impact every phase of the game, Bournes brings a complete skill set to the Hawks' lineup.     A Second Team All-Region selection, Rosenfeldt provides Hanover with a strong two-way presence on the perimeter. She is highly active defensively, using her instincts and quick hands to generate steals and even block shot attempts. Offensively, Rosenfeldt is a confident shooter with textbook form and a smooth follow-through, capable of knocking down three-pointers well beyond the arc as soon as the ball touches her hands. Her defensive plays often translate into offense, where she runs the floor well and can finish in transition. Rosenfeldt's ability to contribute across multiple areas makese her an important part of Hanover's lineup.     A Second Team All-Region guard, McCarthy provides Hanover with a reliable perimeter scoring option. She is a confident shooter who can knock down three-pointers from multiple spots on the floor, whether at the top of the key, along the wing, or in the corner waiting for a kick-out pass. McCarthy is patient in finding space and is quick to release once the ball reaches her hands, making her an efficient perimeter threat. In addition to her shooting, she contributes on the boards, facilitates when needed, and uses her defensive instincts to generate steals.     A Second Team All-Region selection, Webster brings defensive intensity and awareness to Hanover's lineup. She is highly active on that end of the floor, consistently generating steals and disrupting passing lanes with her anticipation and athleticism. Webster shows patience with the ball as well. If she creates a turnover and finds herself outnumbered in transition, she pulls the play back and waits for teammates rather than forcing a shot. Her ability to pick steals from behind, stay active in traps, and rotate quickly into double teams makes her a constant defensive presence. Webster's effort and instincts help set the tone for Hanover's defensive pressure.
