The VHSL Class 6 state semifinals bring together four programs powered by standout talent across the roster. Osbourn Park, Oakton, West Potomac, and Manchester each feature players who have driven their postseason runs through scoring, defense, and leadership. From record-breaking performances to clutch postseason moments, these athletes have consistently delivered when their teams needed it most. As the semifinals tip off Friday, individual matchups and key player performances could ultimately decide who advances to the state championship.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Osbourn Park vs. Oakton, 7pm</h2>   Osbourn Park (Region B Champions)    Rainey enters the state semifinals as Osbourn Park's all-time leading scorer after a 25-point performance in the state quarterfinals pushed her 1,440 career points. The Region 6B Player of the Year and three-time Cedar Run District Player of the Year is a dynamic three-level scorer who can rise into pull-ups, attack downhill, or finish through contact. She has consistently delivered in championship moments, hitting timely three-pointers and clutch free throws late in games. Beyond scoring, her rebounding and full-court pressure ignite Osbourn Park's transition offense.     West earned 1st Team All-Region and continues to be a momentum player for Osbourn Park, thriving in the in between spaces of the game. In the 54-27 state quarterfinal win over L.C. Bird, she attacked baseline with purpose, putting pressure on the defense and helping OP control the tempo. West is sharp at reading turnovers and turning defense into quick, efficient ball movement, whether she's pushing pace or collapsing the lane for kick-outs. Defensively, her active hands create transition opportunities, and she rebounds fearlessly despite size mismatches.     Salinas, a 2nd Team All-Region selection, continues to look like one of the top 2027 prospects in the state with her size, shot-making, and two-way versatility. In the 54-27 state quarterfinal win over L.C. Bird, she mixed confident perimeter looks with downhill drives. When she was hitting threes, she was getting to the rim for two. Her impact showed up defensively as well, where she provided stifling interior help, doubling at the right moments and using her length to make it tough for opponents to shoot over her with arms straight up. That blend of spacing, rim pressure, and disciplined defense makes her a high-leverage player in postseason lineups.     Jones provides reliable backcourt minutes with composure, communication, and disciplined defensive pressure. Inn the 54-27 state quarterfinal win over L.C. Bird, she consistently dribbled into the lane to collapse the defense and keep Osbourn Park's offense flowing. She plays the role of smart facilitator, attacking gaps under control, drawing help, then delivering clean passes to teammates. Her anticipation in passing lanes and on-ball pressure help set the tone defensively, giving OP depth in tight postseason matchups.     Myers brings physicality and relentless effort to Osbourn Park's interior presence. In the 54-27 state quarterfinal win over L.C. Bird, she stayed aggressive offensively, finding openings to attack and finishing an up-and-under move for a bucket and an and-one. She battles for rebounds in congested areas and creates second-chance opportunities with her activity on the glass. Defensively, Myers pressures the post and forces opponents into difficult attempts, adding toughness that balances Osbourn Park's perimeter attack.     Twyman plays an important supporting role inside for Osbourn Park, consistently embracing her responsibilities in the paint. In the 54-27 state quarterfinal win over L.C. Bird, she executed her role effectively with strong interior defense, helping on double-teams and making it difficult for opponents to shoot over her with arms straight up. Oakton (Region D Runner-Ups)    Toole has been one of the most decorated players in the region this season, earning District Offensive Player of the Year, District Defensive Player of the Year, and Region 6D Player of the Year. She is a reliable double-digit scorer who can create offense when possessions tighten. Defensively, she sets the tone with pressure and intensity that fuels Oakton's energy. Her ability to impact both ends makes her one of the most complete guards in the state.     Chang, a Dickinson commit and 1,000-point scorer, earned 1st Team All-District and 2nd Team All-Region this season. She stretches defenses with confident perimeter shooting and applies pressure off the dribble to create scoring opportunities. Chang also contributes on the glass and helps push the pace in transition, adding versatility to Oakton's guard play. Her scoring ability and experience give the Cougars another reliable option in high-pressure postseason matchups.     Kinlaw earned 1st Team All-District and 2nd Team All-Region after delivering key performances throughout the season. She manages Oakton's interior presence with physical rebounding and aggression around the rim. In the Concorde District Championship, she converted a crucial and-one with 35 seconds remaining in overtime to secure the 39-36 victory over Centreville. Earlier in the season, she dominated the glass with a 20-rebound performance against Centreville, highlighting her ability to control possessions in the paint.    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">West Potomac vs. Manchester, 7pm</h2>   West Potomac (Region C Runner-Ups)    Houton leads West Potomac's offense and consistently fills the stat sheet across multiple categories. She averages 13.8 points per game and delivered a 21-point performance in the state quarterfinals, including five three-pointers. Houston rebounds well for her position and pressures opposing guards defensively. Her ability to score in rhythm or take over stretches makes her the focal point of West Potomac's attack.     Beddis provides reliable perimeter scoring while also contributing as a secondary playmaker. Averaging double figures, she stretches defenses with her outside shooting and can create offense off the dribble. She rebounds effectively and distributes the ball well within West Potomac's offense. Her shot-making becomes particularly valuable in close postseason games.     Ngalieu brings energy and rebounding to West Potomac's frontcourt. She has shown the ability to step into a scoring role, highlighted by a 15-point performance against Woodson earlier this season. Her activity on the boards stabilizes possessions and helps extend offensive opportunities. Defensively, her positioning and effort make her a consistent contributor.     Harkless delivers defensive intensity that fuels West Potomac's transition offense. An All-Defensive selection, she disrupts passing lanes and creates steals with quick hands and anticipation. Offensively, she has produced multiple double-digit scoring performances this season. Her biggest moment came in the state quarterfinals when she hit the game-winning three-pointer to send West Potomac to the semifinals.     Strother has emerged as a promising young scoring option in West Potomac's rotation. She scored 14 points in both the season opener and the regional quarterfinal win over West Springfield. Her ability to rebound and contribute from both the perimeter and interior adds versatility. As a sophomore, she has shown composure beyond her years in key moments.    Manchester (Region A Champions)    Smith is one of the top 2027 prospects in Virginia and a driving force behind Manchester's postseason run. She scored 15 points in the state quarterfinals and consistently impacts games with her physicality and high motor. Smith can handle the ball in transition, finish through contact, and guard multiple positions defensively. Her ability to turn defense into offense makes her a constant threat.     Weaver is a reliable backcourt presence who stretches defenses with confident three-point shooting from the top and corners. In the 48-40 state quarterfinal win over Gainesville, she scored 15 points, helping Manchester control key scoring runs. She handles pressure with patience and strong decision-making, keeping the offense organized when possessions tighten. In transition, she hustles ahead of the play and attacks, providing pose and production at a high level.     Royal anchors the interior with size and protection. She establishes strong post position offensively, sealing defenders and finishing efficiently at the basket. Defensively, she alters shots with well-timed blocks and strong positioning. Her presence inside makes scoring in the paint difficult for opponents.     Edwards brings quickness, defensive pressure, and pace to Manchester's guard rotation. In the 48-40 state quarterfinal win over Gainesville, she scored 11 points, providing timely offense alongside the team's primary options. Defensively, she disrupts passing lanes and pressures ball handlers into mistakes that create transition opportunities. Offensively, she runs the floor hard, can knock down perimeter shots, and uses her speed to finish tough drives when defenses overplay.     Taylor continues to emerge as a strong young interior presence for Manchester. She runs the floor well, finishes with her back to the basket, and protects the rim with her length. Her ability to score on consecutive possessions gives Manchester another reliable option in the paint. As she continues to develop, her impact inside continues to grow.
