Class 7A State Championship

Two of the state's premier programs met for the 7A State Championship as Hoover faced Bob Jones in a matchup many expected all season. Hoover set the tone early behind the dominant interior play of [player_tooltip player_id='382891' first='Khloe' last='Ford'], who controlled the paint and helped the Bucs take a 14–11 lead after the first quarter alongside Aliyah Blanchard. Bob Jones, who looked determined to reach this matchup after their semifinal performance, received contributions from several players but struggled to find consistent scoring. Hoover's floor spacing continued to create problems, forcing Bob Jones to choose between defending the perimeter or collapsing inside to contain Ford. Bob Jones needed more production from senior point guard Smith and forward Watts, who combined for 53 points in the semifinals but were held to just four first-half points. Hoover maintained control in the second half to secure a 61–43 victory and its sixth consecutive Class 7A State Championship. She finished with 29 points on 50% shooting while controlling the glass with 10 rebounds. Ford lived at the free throw line, converting 9 of her 12 attempts. Her presence in the paint was overwhelming for the defense. She also added 2 blocks and a steal, impacting the game defensively. Ford dominated the interior and led Hoover to another championship.     All-Tournament Team   [player_tooltip player_id='1207417' first='Kristen' last='Winston'] earned All-Tournament Team honors with a strong all-around performance. She finished with 13 points, going 7-for-12 from the free-throw line while impacting the game across the stat sheet. Winston added 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, and a block. An elite two-way guard, she consistently made plays on both ends of the floor. Her unselfish approach kept teammates involved and the offense flowing. A true three-level scorer, Winston showed her versatility throughout the championship game.     All-Tournament Team   [player_tooltip player_id='371482' first='Aaliyah' last='Blanchard'] earned All-Tournament Team honors with another stellar defensive performance. Her presence was felt all over the floor, finishing with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Blanchard came into the game tasked with shutting down one of the top sophomores in the state and country. Matched up against Blanchard — also known as “Off Night” — the highly touted guard experienced exactly why she's earned that nickname. Blanchard's physical defense and anticipation completely disrupted the matchup. The sophomore star was held to just 4 points under Blanchard's relentless pressure. She finished with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals. Smith impacted the game on both ends with her toughness and activity. An elite three-level scorer, she can create offense from anywhere on the floor. Her versatility and competitiveness make her a constant matchup problem. A true three-level scorer, she consistently pressures defenses from multiple spots on the floor. Watts shows a natural scoring feel and confidence with the ball in her hands. Her midrange game is especially impressive, creating tough shots with smooth balance and touch. That ability to operate in the middle of the floor makes her a difficult matchup.
