In a thrilling finale held on March 14 at the Denver Coliseum, the 7th-seeded Falcons defeated the 5th-seeded Northfield Nighthawks with a final score of 54–51. This victory marked the eighth state title for Highlands Ranch and its first since 2011. Several key players balled out this season, exuding confidence and never letting up on the gas pedal. This holds a special place in my heart, as Highlands Ranch High School will forever be my alma mater. To see the excellence that Coach Jarocki has instilled over the years has been remarkable. It's time to give the state winners their flowers and elaborate on who's taken over. Let's talk about it.

[player_tooltip player_id='792709' first='Kimora' last='Banks-Thomas'] is the undisputed engine of the Falcons' offense. Banks-Thomas led the team in nearly every major statistical category. She averaged 17.2 PPG while maintaining a reliable 80% from the free-throw line. Beyond scoring, her court vision and defensive tenacity were on full display, leading the squad with 3.3 APG and 2.6 SPG. Her ability to perform under pressure was the defining factor in the Falcons' hoisting of the state title. As only a sophomore, her game has exponentially progressed, with top-notch court vision and elite awareness that can't be coached. This is just the beginning for the top-ranked guard in the 2028 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='631435' first='Katie' last='Moon'] is a primary scoring threat off the wing, providing essential floor spacing for the Falcons. She finished the season averaging 8.7 PPG, who proved to be the team's most dangerous long-range shooter, leading the roster with a 34% mark from behind the arc. Moon's ability to heat up quickly was a massive asset, particularly in the state tournament, where her scoring bursts kept Highlands Ranch ahead in tight possessions. Moon's energy is contagious and reflects the fighting Falcon spirit that led them to the title. Expect a similar narrative from Katie throughout the summer and continuing into her senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='631436' first='Addison' last='Moon'] rounds out a dangerous backcourt. Moon was a consistent secondary playmaker and scorer, averaging 9.6 PPG. She was highly efficient from deep, trailing just behind her sister with a 31% three-point percentage. Moon's versatility allowed her to slide between guard positions, providing the Falcons with both ball-handling security and a knockdown shooting option when the defense collapsed on the paint. Moon's catch-and-shoot game is impeccable, knocking down difficult looks while being unfazed with utmost confidence.

[player_tooltip player_id='792708' first='Jayda' last='Rogers'] is a true two-way force. The 6'0" sophomore was a nightmare for opponents on the glass and in transition. Jayda led the team in rebounding with 5.9 RPG and was the second-leading scorer at 9.9 points per contest. Rogers' efficiency was a standout feature of her game, shooting 45% from the field and an impressive 78% from the charity stripe, making her one of the most reliable interior and mid-range options on the roster.

[player_tooltip player_id='792786' first='Kennedi' last='Toliver'] was a freshman sensation this season, providing the Falcons with a formidable presence in the paint. Toliveri led the team in overall field goal efficiency, shooting a stellar 50% from the floor while contributing 9.2 PPG. Defensively, she was the team's premier rim protector, leading the Falcons with 0.9 BPG and securing 5.4 RPG nightly, anchoring a defense that paved the way to the state title.
