<p>The district playoffs begin for large schools in Classes 4,5, and 6 around the state this evening. While we all look forward to seeing some of those district championship matchups on Friday night, there are some good first-round games taking place tonight. Here are five of those intriguing Class 6 first-round matchups that we're keeping an eye on.</p>

<p>Park Hill South vs. Park Hill (Class 6, District 7 at Park Hill South)</p>

<p>It is always exciting when you have district rival schools meeting up in the first round of the postseason, which is what you have here at xx. This will be the fourth meeting between the two teams with South winning all three of the previous meetings.</p>

The McDonald's All-American is averaging 25 points and 14 rebounds a game while playing all five positions. Bjorn gets good support from 5'10" 2027 Paige Farber, who is averaging 11 points and eight rebounds a game. Park Hill is a young team that is on the come up. Their top player is 5'8" 2028 guard [player_tooltip player_id='906865' first='Audrey' last='Sims'], who is averaging 15 points and three rebounds. <strong>Ja'kyla Wright</strong> is a 6'2" 2029 forward who averages 11 points and six rebounds.</p>

<p>This is an excellent matchup between two teams that have split their first two meetings this season. There will be plenty of talent on the floor for this one. Liberty has a balanced scoring attack led by 5'6" 2027 guard [player_tooltip player_id='808391' first='Elecea' last='Norman'], who averages 13 points a game. She's quick and she can score. [player_tooltip player_id='910365' first='Enslie' last='Dryer'] is a 6'1" 2026 forward who averages 13 points and five rebounds while 6'0" 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='777617' first='Hadley' last='Gravatt'] is a versatile forward who averages 12 points and eight rebounds a game. </p>

<p>North Kansas City has a dynamic duo in 6'2" 2026 forward Dee Dee Newton and 5'7" 2026 guard Macey Willmann. Newton is an athletic post player who runs the court and excels at both ends of the floor. She is averaging 18 points and 13 rebounds a game. Willmann is a force on the perimeter as she averages nearly 20 points a game, along with four rebounds and four assists.</p>

<p>This is another excellent first-round matchup between No. 3 seed Liberty North vs. No. 6 seed Oak Park. Both teams have plenty of talent. </p>

<p>Liberty North closed the regular season with a pair of big wins over SWMO area teams Nixa and Kickapoo. North is led by Division I recruits [player_tooltip player_id='538901' first='Alex' last='Couch'] and [player_tooltip player_id='445429' first='Millie' last='Perry']. The 5'10" Couch is averaging 18.5 points and nine rebounds while the 5'10" Perry is averaging 14 points,, four rebounds and three assists a game. Guard [player_tooltip player_id='1279361' first='Taytum' last='Schnakenberg'] is a 5'8" 2029 who has emerged as a prime-time player. She scored 49 points in the last two game against Kickapoo and Nixa.</p>

<p>Oak Park has a talented young team led by 6'0" 2028 forward [player_tooltip player_id='1097681' first='Karissa' last='Davis'], who is averaging 22.5 points and 12 rebounds a game. She plays a smooth game around the basket. [player_tooltip player_id='525617' first='Kiera' last='Ross'] is a 2027 guard who averages 12 points a game while 5'10" 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='784001' first='Jaelynn' last='Carter'] averages 10 points a game while making 48 3-pointers.</p>

<p>As a person who enjoys excellent low post play, this is a matchup that I find very appealing. Both teams feature excellent young forwards who do an excellent job inside. Kirkwood is led by 6'0" 2027 forward Livie Losse, who is averaging 15 points and nine rebounds a game. She is receiving Division I interest and also an early offer from Northern Illinois. Seckman features 6'4" 2028 center [player_tooltip player_id='1112273' first='Mollie' last='Bailey'], who has the ability to dominate games. She is currently averaging 16 points and 13 rebounds a game.</p>
