Hermiston's efficiency was the difference. After a slow first quarter, both teams opened up offensively in the second. Hermiston shot 48 percent from the field for the game and 41 percent from three, a major edge over Southridge's 27 percent overall shooting. The Bulldogs built separation in the second half by attacking the rim and finishing possessions. Southridge struggled to convert consistently, and even when they generated open looks, the percentages did not cooperate. Rebounding and shot selection told the story. Hermiston controlled defensive boards and converted high-percentage attempts inside. Southridge relied heavily on perimeter shots and could not string together stops long enough to flip momentum.
