Getting up early to roll to the gym and hoop it up didn't bother these 12U, 13U, and 14U players. This is the age level where things get more serious, and this gifted cohort was all business.
Tessa Feingold came to play on Sunday as she led her Level Up team to a victory against the Rosedale Tribe. Feingold had the GPS on her long-range jumper dialed in as she connected for numerous 3-pointers. When the defense took her perimeter looks away, Feingold exhibited a variety of moves to the hoop and finished strong. She also had a heavy presence on the boards, grabbing offensive rebounds and cashing them in for second-chance points.

It was clear right from the opening tip that Kassidy McCormack only knows one way to play. That is all out 100 percent. This dynamic point guard loves attacking the rim and doesn't shy away from creating contact. McCormack is savvy at drawing fouls to get to the charity stripe and finishing when she is bumped. McCormack can drain the deep 3-pointer or pull up in the midrange. On defense, her relentless effort never allows the person she is guarding to get comfortable. Perhaps the strongest part of her game is leaking out ahead of the pack and scoring in transition.

The best way to define Jaslyn Encarnacion's game is consistent. All weekend long, she was a standout in any game she played in. It didn't matter if it was 8 a.m. or 2 p.m., she came ready to play. Encarnacion competes with a fiery intensity. She is skilled in every aspect of the game. Her outside shooting range is superb, but she can score at all three levels. Encarnacion can drive past defenders with the dribble and finish, or pull up for a short jumper. She runs the floor well and finishes in transition. She is aggressive on defense and plays with reckless abandon.

Lilani Bullicer is a fun player to watch. Your eyes are drawn to the way she hustles at all times, diving after loose balls and adding extra possessions for her team. She is a fierce competitor with a motor that is always running in high gear. Bullicer is the definition of a pure point guard, a true floor general. Her presence on the court makes everyone around her better. She is always directing traffic and making sure her teammates are in the right place at the right time. Bullicer is fearless when driving to the hoop. She also has a very strong pull-up jumper and can shoot from deep.

Jalena Ako is the textbook example of the phrase "Lightning in a bottle." Ako has extremely quick feet and hands, which qualify her as an elite on-the-ball defender. Opponents trying to handle the ball around her are intimidated by the havoc she causes. Ako has court vision beyond her years and can really dish the rock. Her swift first step puts pressure on defenses that try to stop her dribble penetration. Ako is a consistent finisher at the rim, but can also knock down shots from the perimeter.

Madison Curry is still growing, but already has the footwork and moves to be an outstanding post player. The size and skill set she possesses are seldom seen in such a young player. Whether posting up with her back to the basket. Or catching and facing up, Curry is tough to deal with. Curry is a very good shooter, especially around the lane area, but she has shown the ability to step outside and knock down deeper shots. The most impressive part of her game is her ability to rebound. Curry is tireless in her pursuit of boards. She is a talented defender and shot blocker. Curry is a player who can completely take over a game on the interior. It will be fun to watch her develop in the future.
