Tuesday, March 3rd I attended the semi finals of the OPEN. The first game was #2 seed Millennium taking on #11 seed Canyon View followed by #1 seed Perry taking on #4 Sandra Day O'Connor. Millennium won 48-37 and Sandra Day O'Connor won 45-40.

Here were the younger standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='1255336' first='Amaya' last='Ribbens'] Millennium (Pictured left)

One of my favorite freshmen that I have viewed is Ribbens. She can play from inside and out as she will face-up from mid-range and work inside. She is an elite pick setter, shot blocker and rebounder. She outlets the ball like Kevin Love and has a bright future ahead of her.

[player_tooltip player_id='797311' first='Mariah' last='Brownlee'] Millennium (Pictured right)

A gifted small forward had a big night. She scored with transition layups, floaters, quick baseline drives with nice first step and will defend multiple positions. She rebounds in and out of her area and will collect steals. She scored 17+ points and filled up the stat sheet.

[player_tooltip player_id='1255332' first='Brooklyn' last='Williams'] Millennium

Another stud freshmen for the Tigers is definitely Williams. She is another who can play and defend multiple positions. She is a two-way defensive guard who is a fierce on-ball defender and had an incredible chase down block. She collected three+ steals and brought a motor. She will score with threes off the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='925236' first='Francesca' last='Sofia'] Sandra Day O'Connor

A transfer by way of Liberty is a natural scorer with the ability to stretch the floor and she has quick hands on defense. She comes with deep three point range and manages to get to her spots with her tight handle and speed with the ball. She collects steals with her quick feet.

[player_tooltip player_id='1212173' first='Lourdes' last='Carranza'] Canyon View

My first time seeing the young point guard who is the daughter of the coach. She simply just knows how to play. She moves the ball like you should and has advanced court vision as she anticipates where her teammates will be. She will also score it with threes off the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1239007' first='Sophia' last='Davis'] Sandra Day O'Connor

Another newcomer for me is Davis. She is a tough two-way wing forward who can rebound, block shots and defend a few positions. She will score with tough and-1 downhill takes and play an important role as a glue player for the Eagles.
