Cedric Cobb | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Fresh off a state title, and where do you find her? Right back in the gym like the good ones do. Ribbens continues to work on her craft. She’s a three-level scorer with good instincts and physicality. Defended the post well and showed a mature offensive package.

The talented freshman stepped onto the biggest stage and produced. Ribbens earned MVP honors, finishing with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting while also adding six rebounds. What stood out most was her versatility. She was effective finishing around the rim, but also showed the confidence to step out and knock down a perimeter jumper. When the game tightened up, she delivered a couple of timely baskets that helped Millennium keep Sandra Day O’Connor at arm’s length.

Against Salpointe, the freshman was in her bag offensively, showing her vast potential. She was operating in the post, hitting mid-range jump shots and hitting three pointers as well. Her ability to step out and hit the perimeter shot makes her extra difficult to defend. As her confidence continues to grow show will her productivity.

Amaya brings a good size to the game and appears to enjoy physical play, embracing contact in the paint. Amaya has a nice, reliable jump shot around the basket, and she will continue to develop this skill as her game progresses. She has a commanding presence inside the paint, where she consistently uses her frame to create advantages for herself. What I really like about Amaya is that she runs the floor very well for her size. Amaya is instinctual around the basket. She has a vertical pop close to the basket that allows her to play above her defenders.

The big freshman was one of the most intriguing young prospects in the gym. Ribbens displayed a polished offensive skillset for her age — smooth footwork, soft hands, and a great finishing touch. Defensively, she held her ground, altering shots and showing toughness in the paint on both ends.

Ribbens did not disappoint as she bullied her way around the paint all the games I was able to watch her play. She has soft hands and great footwork for her size. Ribbens is capable of getting up and down the court and is quickly emerging as one of the top prospects in the 2029 class here in Arizona. I expect her recruitment to pick up and project her to land at a Power 4 School due to her size, quickness, and skillset.
