<p>There is no feeling like cutting down the nets on district championship night! The 1st District Tournament once again delivered the emotion, intensity, and passion that makes Kentucky the heart of high school basketball. Rivalries were renewed, the gyms were packed, and every possession felt like it could change a season. For the players, coaches, and fans, this is what it is all about. The energy was electric and the stakes were high as teams battled for district glory and the chance to celebrate at center court!</p>

<p>The tournament was hosted by Fulton City and the semifinal matchups immediately brought the excitement. In one semifinal, Hickman County came out locked in and played with tremendous energy from the opening tip. Their defense set the tone early and their offense followed, leading to an impressive 62-32 victory over the host Fulton City. Hickman County controlled the pace of the game and showed why they were a dangerous team heading into the championship round!</p>

<p>The other semifinal saw Carlisle County face off against Fulton County. The Lady Comets continued the dominant form they showed all season long, playing with confidence and execution on both ends of the floor. Carlisle County pulled away with a strong 69-49 victory to advance to the district championship game.</p>

<p>That set up a highly anticipated championship matchup between two teams that battled all season long in district play. Carlisle County entered the game with a perfect 9-0 district record, while Hickman County came in at 7-4 and looking to pull off the upset. The stage was set for a championship showdown!</p>

<p>When the game tipped off, Carlisle County showed exactly why they had been the team to beat all year. From the start they played with great intensity, strong defense, and balanced scoring. By the time the final buzzer sounded, the Carlisle County Lady Comets had secured a convincing 61-35 victory to capture their sixth straight district championship! The celebration began as the nets were cut down and another trophy was headed back to Carlisle County.</p>

<p>Carlisle County proved throughout the season that they were the standard in the district and they delivered once again when it mattered most!</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Freshman Olivia Webb stepped up in a huge way on the championship stage. Webb delivered a big time double double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, showing tremendous poise for such a young player. Her ability to score and control the glass was a major factor in the victory. For the season, Webb averaged 7.5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, but on championship night she elevated her game and made a massive impact!</p>

<p>Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1239005' first='Macee' last='Hogancamp'] continued her outstanding season with another strong performance. Hogancamp scored 14 points while shooting nearly 56 percent from the field and also grabbed 6 rebounds. She has been a dominant force all year long, averaging 17.3 points and 10.6 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 52.6 percent from the floor despite constantly being the main focus of opposing defenses. Her leadership and consistency helped guide the Lady Comets to another championship!</p>

Lemons has been a key perimeter threat all season, averaging 6.6 points per game and leading the team in three pointers made. When Carlisle County needed a spark from the outside, Lemons delivered!</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Sophomore Ella Draper provided one of the biggest surprises of the night with a strong offensive performance. Draper scored 8 points while shooting an impressive 60 percent from the field. That production was huge considering she averaged 1.2 points per game during the regular season. Stepping up on the championship stage like that shows the depth and confidence of this Carlisle County team!</p>

<p>Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1192413' first='Gracyn' last='Edging'] may have finished with 3 points, but her impact went far beyond the scoring column. Edging battled on the boards all night and finished with an impressive 10 rebounds. Her work inside helped Carlisle County control the glass and maintain momentum throughout the game. Edging averaged 11.9 points and 4 rebounds per game during the season and continues to be an important piece of this championship squad.</p>

Britton has been a major scoring threat for Hickman County all season long, averaging 9.1 points per game and leading the team in three pointers made. Her ability to stretch the floor and knock down big shots was on full display!</p>

Meshew scored 15 points and was incredibly efficient from long range, hitting three of her four attempts from beyond the arc. She averaged 7.1 points per game this season and led the team in three point percentage, proving to be one of Hickman County's most reliable shooters.</p>
