A change of scenery. A fresh start. A new opportunity to prove yourself. Sometimes that's what it takes for a player to remind all involved just how much they are capable of. That's exactly what [player_tooltip player_id='630285' first='Adele' last='Changamire'] did Saturday at the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit Minnesota Shootout. Having moved from the [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'] EYBL squad over to the ETS group, this was Changamire's first weekend of the new AAU campaign. As anyone watching would have to agree, Adele reminded us that she is an elite college prospect with all of the tools necessary to succeed in Division 1.

There were plenty of fine performances on Saturday. Ally McGinnis, Tony Ragulen and I split the teams into three groups and we are each having a go at highlighting some of the fresh faces and top performers we watched. Led by Ms. Changamire, here are five of my favorites at Shakopee on Saturday.

Changamire made her presence felt all day at the PGH Minnesota Shootout, reminding everyone exactly why she's one of the top players in the 2028 class. Playing a featured role with the ETS group, she was everywhere – pushing pace, forcing turnovers, and attacking the rim with explosive intent. Her quick first step and acceleration consistently put defenders on their heels, and she handled contact with strength and confidence. Adele seems to thrive when the pace is at its fastest and there's some chaos on the court. She was in her element in Saturday's up-tempo environment. It took Adele some time last year to recover her form after injury. This winter she crushed it, averaging 18 points per game on 44% shooting from the field along with 5.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists. Always an aggressive defender, Changamire led Becker in steals with 71. Underestimate Adele at your peril because she is going to make you pay.

Gray was one of the more dynamic guards we saw at the Shootout, bringing pace, creativity, and scoring punch to the ETS lineup. The guard from East Ridge High School in Woodbury consistently beat defenders off the dribble with her quick first step, creating space for finishes at the rim or her smooth step-back jumper. Brielle pushed tempo, played with confidence, and looked fully comfortable attacking in space. Her off-ball movement was equally effective, keeping defenses engaged throughout possessions. Defensively, she competed with energy and anticipation. After battling injuries over the past couple of years, Gray appears to be on her game again and this performance was a strong reminder of her high-level talent and long-term upside.

As she often does, Taylor showed flashes of electricity at the Shootout, playing with a burst and confidence that immediately stands out. She attacked relentlessly, slicing through traffic to finish or rise up for her smooth pull-up jumper that we've all seen be a difference-making weapon for years. Once she got going, the DeLaSalle junior was incredibly difficult to contain, operating at a different speed than most on the floor. Her length and elevation allowed her to shoot comfortably over defenders, and she mixed in a polished handle with creative finishes. Samira's ability to score at all three levels was on full display, and Saturday felt like another step forward as her high-level tools continue to come together.

Mortenson

Mortenson may not have been the flashiest player at the Shootout, but the forward from Yellow Medicine East was one of the most consistently impactful. Our eyes kept drifting back to her as she made one smart, effective play after another. She moved well, got up and down the floor at a good clip, and was quietly efficient in pretty much everything she did. Bailey's improved length and mobility were noticeable, and she showed a strong feel for the game with timely passes and good positioning. As the pace picked up, she adjusted welly, proving she can thrive in the AAU setting despite coming from the slower pace of the small-school high school season. We recently added Mortenson to the Class of 2028 rankings. If she keeps playing like she did at the Shootout, Bailey will definitely trend upward.

[player_tooltip player_id='903543' first='Olivia' last='Holmberg'] – 2028 guard, [program_tooltip program_id='712700' first='Minnesota' last='Suns'] 16U S40

Holmberg put together a well-rounded and confident performance at the Shootout, showcasing the steady growth in her game that impresses us more every time we watch. She knocks down perimeter shots, attacks the basket with purpose, and facilitates effectively in the half court. What stood out most was her assertiveness. That has been an issue in years past but it seems like that hurdle may have been crossed. She was active, creative and confident throughout. Olivia forced turnovers defensively, fought for loose balls, and consistently made the right reads. Her ability to get downhill with pace and power is enabling her to score more at the rim and earn to trips to the free throw line at an impressive rate. Fundamentally sound and team-first, Holmberg continues to elevate her impact.
