Talk about kids who have jumped onto the scene and competed like no other. See, more and more now, kids are given an opportunity to play early in their high school career. Back in the day, one had to master the freshman or JV game before playing varsity minutes. Nowadays, if you are good, off you go, and it's sink or swim from there.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>To my surprise, as well as many of you, there were some 2029s who just put their head down and got to work. Didn't matter who the opponent was or the school they faced; they just got after it. Once they believed in themselves and mastered what their team needed from them, boom, it was off to the races. These kids put in solid work at each outing, and as you can see, their numbers rose steadily.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Even though I am about to highlight a few 2029s whose stocks rose over the season, there are plenty more who had masterful seasons themselves. A Miss Tennessee basketball nominee, she was the driving force behind her club in so many ways. Points, rebounds, blocks, you name it, her team turned to her, and she produced throughout the season. Strong. Physical. This hardworking specimen delivered a masterful season for her school. She not only won the championship but was also named the game's MVP. Look for her to continue growing and improving her game. She's a bucket getter, and she can light it up from all three levels. She was a true battery mate, making the 1-2 guard tandem of Greenfield lethal as all get out. Once the ball went through the net a time or two, she was locked and loaded, and more points were to come. She's an all-around player who will be up for the Miss TN basketball award. This young lady can put it on the floor and score it or let it fly from the arc, scorching the net as the ball descends on its way down. She is a heady ballplayer who competes at everything she does. She makes the hustle plays, gets on the floor for loose balls, and is just a solid defender. She will be an important piece for a talented Page ballclub that will look to return to the state. Her game is going to grow over the offseason and throughout the travel ball season. Look for her to come back into the high school ranks and tear it up right from the start. She has range to her game, but can also put the ball on the floor and finish. A kid who brings the juice nightly, she is a fearless leader who rises to the occasion and produces. Blessed with speed and quickness, two traits that are her strengths, which cause problems for opponents. She has a type of flair to her game. One that speaks volumes and instills fear amongst opponents. She's a heady floor general that will be a tremendous leader.
