Shootout-Nashville: 17U Gold Championship Bracket Top Performers

Anyone would automatically notice her because she was the tallest player in the tournament. She is listed as 6'7 on the roster. Because of her height, she didn't have to jump much for rebounds nor to block shots. She has great timing on her blocks. She is very agile at her height to defend laterally on the perimeter. Her frame is long and strong. She has a lot of strength while playing with her back to the basket. Kierra started showing her impact before the game started. During warm up, she vocally held her teammates accountable by instructing where they should be in the pregame warmup drill. She started the game with the first steal. Then almost stole the ball on the following possession. Later in the game, after an offensive rebound off of a free throw, she drained a three pointer from the wing. Kalina was able to get a lot of three point shots off in her first game due to her ability to shoot the ball very deep and with a quick release. She is an aggressive defender in full court and half court because of her quick footwork. She can contain a quick guard because she can change directions so quickly.
