The Prep Girls Hoops Michigan College Tour made its second stop at Wayne State University on Saturday, April 25th. Both fieldhouses on campus were packed with college coaches right from the opening tip, representing several programs across the D2, NAIA, D3, and JUCO levels. I was encouraged by the fact that the prospects had the opportunity to be observed by different levels of college programs and respected scouts, maximizing their potential to be recruited. My coverage focused on teams competing on courts three and four throughout the day. Elusive, shifty, and strong ball-handlers immediately stand out on the court. These guards checked those boxes and more at Wayne State on Saturday.

Makya was a thief in the passing lanes. Her sharp instincts and aggressiveness resulted in many steals. Makya penetrated gaps at will off the dribble, scoring two and-ones through contact. She turned steals into breakaway buckets and drove by with a burst to score layups. Makya showed another gear on the court and she turned in an impressive performance for Dream Loudly 16U EYCL at the PGH MI College Tour II.

Kazyia is a shifty guard with explosive quickness who had an impressive day at the PGH MI College Tour II for [program_tooltip program_id='962114' first='Lady' last='FVV']. She eluded a defender with a sudden crossover, reached around with her left, then finished through contact for the and-one: completed the three-point play at the line. Kazyia has an extra gear off the dribble and turned perimeter steals into fast break layups. She split the gap after using a rip move, blew by the defenders, and score comfortably with her left. Kazyia side-stepped a defender on a baseline drive to score a layup and created separation with effective between-the-legs, crossover combinations. She showed her range by sinking a corner three and was a dynamic two-way player throughout the day.

In a difficult matchup, Imani was the most aggressive, confident, and competitive player for 1 Nation Elite 16U. She broke the full court press with effective low crossovers, maintained her poise, changed directions suddenly, kept her eyes up, and delivered an outstanding bounce pass for an assist after drawing the help defender. Imani used an explosive double-crossover dribble to create a lane, then slammed into top gear for a drive-by layup. She earned a trip to the free throw line by driving hard to the basket in transition and competed from start to finish on both ends of the court. She's a promising point guard prospect and it was great to see her again during the PGH MI College Tour II.

Madason keeps showing out on the PGH Circuit. She was a Top Performer at Northwood and Wayne State was no different. Madason is elusive, explosive, and strong with the ball, which makes her a daunting matchup for opposing guards. In the Bronze Championship Game, she was a two-way terror, pressuring guards on the perimeter to create steals, outracing the defense up the court with her dribble, and imposing her will physically on hard downhill drives. One of Madason's highlights was an assertive straight line drive to the rim with a strong and-one finish through contact. She's been one of the biggest stock risers at guard on the college tour so far and is a very talented prospect for Michigan Goonies 16U E40.

Ava is a speedy point guard whose impact on both ends of the court caught my attention. She moves quickly laterally, applies significant pressure on the ball, and racked up many steals throughout the day. She used a quick crossover to beat her defender and scored a tough contested layup in traffic. Ava finished layups in top gear, threw passes on a rope to teammates in transition, and handled the ball confidently with both hands. She had a great day for [program_tooltip program_id='962114' first='Lady' last='FVV'] at the PGH MI College Tour II.

Aryana is a crafty and elusive point guard who had a big time day for [program_tooltip program_id='962114' first='Lady' last='FVV'] at the PGH MI College Tour II. She has excellent balance, touch, footwork, and finishing dexterity at the rim. Aryana side stepped the final defender to score a sweet reverse with her inside hand, used a killer double-crossover move to blow by her girl for a left handed finish, and kissed a soft layup off the glass after a swift spin dribble. Aryana sprinted back to stop transition points, closed out hard to block a shot on the perimeter, and poked the ball away with her quick hands. She showed off her speed after securing a defensive board, pushing the ball the length of the court to score a layup in traffic.
