17U Teams - Weekend Results and Those Who Turned Heads

<p>As the weekend wraps up, we take a look at how each of the teams we followed performed. With <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='873276' first='Sutton' last='Villa']</strong> as the centerpiece and a national-level recruit, she naturally brought eyes to the floor—and opened up opportunities for others to be noticed.</p>   <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='825009' first='Leah' last='Bailey']</strong> stood out with her quick decision-making, sharp passing, and ability to read the defense. Combined with the team's overall length, they created matchup problems that made them a tough group for opponents to handle.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[program_tooltip program_id='1292942' first='E5' last='Select'] 40 <strong>17U</strong></strong>: </h2>   <p>Although this team finished 3–2, their performance was stronger than the record suggests. Her activity on both ends gave her team a steady presence throughout the weekend.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[program_tooltip program_id='715184' first='Utah' last='Summit'] NE2K <strong>17U</strong></strong></h2>   <p>Coming out of the weekend at 3–2—and with their two losses totaling just six points—this team had a strong overall showing. They were competitive in every game and proved they can hang with anyone they face.</p>   <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='827404' first='Maleah' last='Nelson']</strong>was a force on both ends, applying constant pressure on the ball and taking control when it was in her hands. Several players are adjusting to being primary options again after not having to carry that role since last summer, and you can see them growing into it in real time.</p>   <p><strong>Morgan Felix</strong>, a varsity veteran, provided leadership and stability for the group, setting the tone on the floor. This weekend also offered a first look at several players who have the opportunity to use the summer to elevate their games and step into bigger roles moving forward.</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">3SSB Session 1</h2>   <h1 class="wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color"><em>[program_tooltip program_id='772857' first='Utah' last='Lady Prospects 3SSB']</em></h1>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[program_tooltip program_id='772857' first='Utah' last='Lady Prospects 3SSB'] Elite <strong>17U</strong></strong></h2>   <p>Going 1-3 for the weekend, but in an upper bracket, this outcome puts the Elite 17U team toward the bottom of their pool and places them in a catch-up position going into July's session 2.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[program_tooltip program_id='772857' first='Utah' last='Lady Prospects 3SSB'] Select <strong>17U</strong></strong></h2>   <p>This team went 2-2 and finished second in their bracket.
