This is the time of the year when girls who want to compete at a high level get their work in against like-minded girls who want to get better themselves. Don't get me wrong, I love school ball and everything that comes with it. Travel ball season is like a bunch of All-Star kids from various backgrounds getting together and competing. In a iron sharpens iron world, kids who want to get a leg up in this game do so against some serious competition. That's what this time of the year is all about, and to kick off the month of April, the Prep Hoops scene was live at The Shootout in Nashville, TN.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There were some squads from around the state who ascended on the Nashville area to get some run in. From Memphis to Knoxville and in between, this was a great event to get some competition in before teams headed to their respective circuits. It was a sight to see as girls came together to put on a show for all in attendance. Personally, it was good to be back in the gym and amongst some serious ballers ready to take the next step. This wasn't just for development; many girls who laced them up were ready to showcase their talents as they geared up to compete in front of collegiate coaches. This young lady is poised for a breakthrough summer if she continues to trend in this direction. She stepped up to the challenge and led the charge as she was a menace on both ends of the floor. She was a lockdown defender who created multiple turnovers that led to easy buckets for her team. When she was within the offense, she got paint touches that led to open shot attempts for her teammates or nice layups at the rim. This young lady has been on a serious burner as of late, and her stock is trending upwards coming off a successful high school season. She moves well for a low-post player, plays with poise, and commands her team.
