Film Room Sesh: May Live Period

While I was out and about this weekend, head on a swivel, there were plenty of tremendous talents who I wasn't able to get direct eyes on. Through the power of video and analyzing film, I was able to get some solid evaluations on these five players who deserve recognition for their strong efforts.    A dynamic lead guard who thrives in the up-tempo system Rise manufactures. She was at her best in transition and early offense situations; played with pace, confidence and aggression, putting constant stress on the defense. Impressive shot-making ability to sink contested jumpers and finish through trees down low. Reliable offensive option in critical moments.     Versatile, agile post player who consistently impacted the game with her motor and ability to run the floor. In transition, she sprinted end-to-end, creating easy scoring opportunities and putting pressure on opposing bigs to keep up with her pace. A noticeable part of her scoring package was her comfort finishing on the left side of the rim. Whether off drop-steps, seals, or drives into the lane, she favored that side and showed confidence using the glass effectively from that angle. Her mobility and versatility stood out for a player at her 6'2" size. She moved well laterally and played with energy vs high-level, top tier competition stacked with D1 talent.     A strong, physical two-way guard who impacted the game on both ends with toughness, effort and competitive energy. Offensively, she attacked the basket with confidence and consistently finished through contact, showing strength, balance and the ability to absorb physical play. Despite standing at 5'8”, she consistently played bigger than her size. She battled on the glass, elevated well in traffic, and came away with rebounds in contested areas against taller players. A total energizer for Sharp.     A versatile post player whose ability to stretch the floor made her a difficult matchup for opposing defenses. She combined interior toughness with perimeter skill, giving her the ability to impact the game from multiple areas offensively. In the post, she showed disciplined footwork, establishing position using sharp pivots to create clean scoring angles. Her ability to back defenders down with strength and balance allowed her to generate quality looks around the basket; lots of patience reading double teams and defensive pressure. She shot the 3 at a high level and forced defenders to respect her spacing ability, opening the floor for teammates and creating matchup problems for opposing bigs. A true inside-out threat.     Small guard with a high-powered offensive game and the ability to take over stretches with her scoring. Quick, explosive and and aggressive off the dribble, she consistently slashed through the lane and got to her spots with ease, putting constant pressure on the defense. Smooth and confident pull-up jumper; comfortable rising up off the dribble from mid-range. Lethal from 3; whether spotting up, pulling up off movement, or shooting off the bounce, she stretched the defense and forced opponents to guard well beyond the perimeter.
