Impact Transfers: Part-3

With the state of high school sports right now, and student-athletes able to so easily transfer these days, over the next few months there will likely be several basketball transfers moving from one high school to another. I would like to take this time and identify a few that we already know about. Obviously, there are rumors out there, but we will not include any prospect in these articles throughout the Summer unless they have already updated their PGH profile, they have listed it on one of their social media accounts, we have seen them in action with their new school, or their high school coaches have told us.   .    Olliana was a midseason transfer who came to Westville from nearby Valparaiso High School. She was only eligible for six games for the Blackhawks, averaging 8.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Once she gets a full Summer and preseason with her new teammates, they should be a force in Class 1A. Olliana is a strong, fairly physical post, but she also has a nice face-up game. She can knock down the jumper, plus she is a good passer from the high post. At 6-1, with the guards Westville has, Olliana should be a walking double-double next year.     Arianna is a nice, strong, broad-shouldered guard who entered high school with the ability to create and make shots. She has a quick handle and is able to create space so she can get her shot away. When she was younger, she looked mostly to the jump-shot, but as her game has grown, she has learned how to initiate the offense, plus she has been much more aggressive as an attacker. This Spring, she looks a little leaner and more explosive even. She has transferred from North Central and will be a part of the Fishers Tigers moving forward.     Gianna began her career at Guerin Catholic High School but this past year she enrolled at Bishop Chatard. Before Christmas came, she and her sister (below) were on the move to Noblesville. Gianna did not play any games for the Lady Millers this year but look for her to make an immediate impact in 2026-2027. She has good size, strength, but also nice face-up skill, with the ability to stretch her range to the 3-point line. With several top players graduating the last couple of years and a new coach entering the fold, this coming season should be an interesting one for the Millers.     Chami was one of many talented backcourt players at Pike High School this season. Still, though, she was able to carve out a solid role on a team that was highly ranked all season. Ben Davis was rather young, starting three Freshmen much of the year, but Chami should help them immediately. She has big-time grassroots experience to lean on, plus she is a really nice athlete, she can handle it and run offense from time to time. Additionally, she is a very good defender, both in terms of her effort and understanding. She will be one to keep an eye on next year.     Briley is the younger sister of Gianna (above). She began her career at Bishop Chatard but transferred to Noblesville before Christmas as well. She is a nice wing athlete, she can put it on the floor and attack the basket, and she can create scoring opportunities for herself or others. She did get in nine games for the Lady Millers last year, averaging 3.6 points and 2.1 rebounds per contest. Considering her age and the graduation of Noblesville's top two scorers, this offseason could be very important for Briley, as she can work her way into not only being a starter, but potentially a go-to wing scorer.
