Phillips impressed against the Zone6 Celtics. She was aggressive on offense, looking for her shot. Though she's on the shorter side, Phillips blends strength with speed in order to penetrate. Za'Kyra got to her floater and was effective in transition. Phillips started off her big game with a pair of threes. She totaled 16 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. Heading into her sophomore season, Phillips is trending up as minutes should become more and more available each season at Hillgrove.

Battling some plantar fasciitis, Jadyn gutted it out and showed her toughness both physically and mentality in a 64-32 win. Shots weren't falling early on for Shepard but her “next shot” mentality eventually paid off as she finished with a flurry, drilling three of her four threes in the second half to finish with 12 points. At full strength, not only is Jadyn one of the deadliest shooters in the state, but her off the bounce game has improved greatly, able to create downhill to finish through contact with either hand.

Playing up at the 17U level, Jayla served as a sparkplug for [program_tooltip program_id='713173' first='Wood' last='Elite']. Although one of the smaller players on the floor, Walton's high IQ shined as she knew where to be at all times and routinely made plays. Jayla does a great job rotating on defense, keenly stepping in front of middle flashers to steal passes in the press. Walton converts turnovers into layups finishing with both hands.

Only a rising sophomore, Lily holds promise. Adding strength will help her a lot when it comes to playing inside and blocking out. She tends to swat at the ball instead of grabbing rebounds and steals. The slender post is mobile and comfortable playing at the high post. As she gets more reps, I expect her to find her identity. I like that she was playing up in the 17U division. Her best basketball is ahead of her as she holds intriguing untapped potential.

The rising junior as an interesting piece. Yevrah is big and strong, but she's not just a bruiser. Mack moves well and is aggressive. She doesn't think twice about catching and attacking from the high post and wing. Mack can draw fouls on drives and is a competitive rebounder. She has the makings of becoming a double-double candidate nightly for the Cougars.
