Lockdown Performers: Top Defenders at the Southeast Region Finals

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Girls Hoops is hosting their Southeast Region Finals this weekend in Columbus, Georgia where teams from all over the southeast are competing as May comes to an end.  These athletes have stood out to me for many reasons but especially their defense.  Here are my notes from watching them play Saturday.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block her opponents.  She was aggressive tying up the ball and taking over for her team pushing it to the other end of the court.  She runs the floor well in transition being ready for the pass and defense and being effective getting in the way of passes.  She's very quick laterally, and she uses that quickness on the other end of the court attacking the basket.  She finds her open teammates tough defense blocking the path to the basket making sure her opponents don't have an easy route.  She handles the ball well being patient for plays to develop.  She found her teammates cutting to the tough take to the basket filling the open lane and getting the transition bucket.  She was doing well on the press using her length to disrupt her opponents, and she exploded up the court off of moving on the court whether she was making adjustments to get the pass to her teammates or moving without the ball to get the pass.  She was explosive on defense jumping in front of passing lanes to
