The competition was intense, the gyms stayed loud, and players from multiple age groups came ready to prove they belong on the radar.   From elite guards controlling the pace to versatile wings making plays on both ends, Ruston became a stage for rising talent to make statements. Every court had athletes competing with confidence, toughness, and hunger. Some players came in with names already buzzing around the state, while others used the weekend to officially introduce themselves to coaches, scouts, and basketball fans.   What stood out most was the competitiveness. Players embraced physical basketball, attacked every possession, and played with emotion. Guards showed improved shot creation and court vision, wings defended multiple positions while knocking down perimeter shots, and post players battled inside with relentless effort. The toughness level throughout the event separated this tournament from an average spring showcase.   Several prospects elevated their stock with strong all-around performances. Some showcased elite scoring ability from all three levels, while others impacted games through defense, rebounding, hustle plays, and leadership. The Slamfest atmosphere rewarded players who played hard every possession—and those athletes absolutely stood out.   The future of Louisiana girls basketball continues to look bright. Events like the Louisiana Slamfest continue to provide a major platform for athletes looking to gain exposure and prove they can compete against high-level talent from across the region. Her willingness to do the dirty work makes her the type of player coaches love having on the floor.   For a young prospect in the Class of 2030, Khloe already understands how to impact winning basketball. She competes with heart, toughness, and effort every possession, and her ceiling continues to grow as her offensive game develops. [player_tooltip player_id='1858520' first='Grace' last='Neugent'] | Class of 2030 | Ebarb | 5'6 Combo Guard   [player_tooltip player_id='1858520' first='Grace' last='Neugent'] is quickly proving why she is one of the top young guards in Louisiana's 2030 class. The Ebarb combo guard is ranked No. 3 in the state and No. 1 at her position on Prep Girls Hoops.   Grace brings a strong mix of confidence, toughness, and skill. She can handle the ball, attack the rim, create off the bounce, and knock down shots from multiple levels. What stands out most is her competitive edge — she plays with energy, accepts pressure, and has the mindset of a player who wants the ball in big moments.   As a combo guard, Neugent has the tools to score and facilitate. She can push the pace, make plays in transition, and keep defenses honest with her ability to shoot. Defensively, she competes hard, moves her feet, and brings effort on both sides of the floor.   For a 2030 prospect, Grace is already showing high-level upside. As she continues to develop her strength, decision-making, and leadership, she has a chance to become one of the premier guards in Louisiana.     Upshaw's game continues to evolve, especially offensively. She played with improved confidence attacking downhill, creating opportunities off the dribble, and making plays in transition. Her size and versatility in the backcourt allow her to impact the game as both a scorer and secondary ball handler. She showed the ability to change pace, get into the lane, and make tough plays under pressure.   What stood out most during Slamfest was her growth in overall feel for the game. Caeley looked more comfortable reading defenses, moving without the basketball, and making quick decisions in traffic. She competed with energy on both ends and embraced physical play throughout the weekend.   Defensively, Upshaw has the tools to become a strong two-way guard. Her length and activity helped disrupt passing lanes while her effort level stayed consistent possession after possession. She showed toughness rebounding around the perimeter and was willing to battle against stronger players.   As her shooting consistency and overall offensive polish continue to improve, Caeley has the upside to become a very productive guard in Louisiana's 2029 class. Ruston Slamfest gave another glimpse of a player whose confidence, aggressiveness, and overall game are steadily evolving in the right direction.     Sydney showed improved confidence creating off the dribble and attacking defenders downhill. She played with patience, controlled tempo well, and consistently made smart reads under pressure. Whether it was knocking down perimeter shots, finishing through contact, or making the extra pass, her offensive game looked polished and advanced for her age.   Defensively, Beleau competed with toughness and energy. She used her length well in passing lanes, rebounded at a high level, and showed the willingness to battle inside against bigger players. Her motor stayed active throughout the weekend, and she consistently made hustle plays that impacted winning.   What also stands out about Sydney is her leadership presence and maturity on the floor. She plays with confidence, communicates well, and carries herself like a player who understands how to affect the game beyond scoring alone. Her ability to rebound, facilitate, defend, and lead makes her one of the more complete young prospects in Louisiana basketball.   Ruston Slamfest 2026 was another strong step in [player_tooltip player_id='1279352' first='Sydney' last='Beleau']'s evolution. As she continues developing physically and sharpening her perimeter consistency, her ceiling remains extremely high heading into the future.     Keeley Parrie put together one of the biggest breakout performances at Ruston Slamfest 2026. The 5'9 shooting guard from Ebarb High School caught fire throughout the weekend, knocking down an impressive 19 three-pointers in five games while shooting with confidence and letting it fly from deep.   Parrie showed major growth offensively, spacing the floor and becoming a constant perimeter threat every time she touched the court. Her confidence stood out all weekend as she consistently stepped into shots without hesitation and made defenses pay from beyond the arc. Whether in transition, off the catch, or under pressure, Keeley proved she can heat up quickly and change momentum with her shooting ability.   What also separated her performance was the intensity she brought defensively. Keeley competed hard on every possession, accepted tough matchups, and never backed down from challenges. She played aggressive defense, stayed active, and brought energy on both ends of the floor throughout the event.   Her evolution continues trending upward as her offensive confidence, toughness, and overall feel for the game improve. With her size, shooting ability, and willingness to compete, Keeley Parrie is quickly becoming a name to watch in Louisiana's 2031 class.
