Malika is a bigtime shooter! Listing her as a point guard, but she does everything with the ball. Love her ability to play the game, poised and in a tough physical game, she handles her business. She has a wide open ceiling and this is just the beginning for her!

Jenkins crossover and hesitation moves are textbook! She keeps the ball low and tight- and you combine that with her jets- that equals a nightmare for opponents to contain! She does a great job seeing the floor, getting to the line, and making the offense click! (Below with ball)

Jenkins has made her way to Illinois for the school season. She was one of the best guards when she suited up in Indiana, and that title hasn’t changed even in Illinois. Fundamentally, she has everything you need out of a high level guard. She has a twitchiness to her game that can only be explained by true feel and instincts for the game, and when you add that to her skillset, you can understand why college coaches are interested.

is one of the top players in Northwest Indiana. With the departure of Kylie Wells, she is poised to be Merrillville’s leading scorer over the next two years. Malika is tough to guard thanks to her combination of floor-spacing shooting, physicality attacking the rim, and the ability to read defenses in pick-and-roll situations.
One of her main goals is to add a sectional championship to her list of achievements, something Merrillville has a proud tradition of but has not won since 2021. With her skill set, work ethic, and leadership, Malika is quickly establishing herself among the standout players in Merrillville High School’s storied basketball history.

Jenkins is special and she’s not even scratching the surface of what she can be. The ball control mixed with the change of pace and the ability to create separation whenever she wants is one of the major things that stands out about her. One of those players that will be a name to know over the next couple of years.

Malika put together a nice rookie season, averaging 12.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.9 steals per game in 2023-2024. However, I feel like she is primed for a lot more as a Sophomore. The Pirates starting lineup will be balanced with talent, so she could have big games both scoring and distributing the basketball. Malika is a really nice athlete, she has good all-around skill, and she has the talent to become a lockdown defender. If you don’t know her game, I would check it out.

Malika is one of the best guards in Indiana’s 2027 class who much of the state hasn’t seen yet. She has an athletic frame, length, and she moves well in all directions. She plays with a steady pace, but when she wants to turn it up, she has a different gear. Finding that urgency each possession could help her take over games this Winter for the Pirates. She can handle the ball, manage an offense, create offense, or knock down jumpers consistently. She can also defend multiple positions on the floor and cause problems at that end.

Malika burst onto the scene as a rookie, proving that she can affect the game in many different ways. She has an athletic frame, nice length, and she can play either backcourt spot. She is unselfish, can run offense, and will often find open teammates. At the same time, she is a multilevel scorer who can get to the rim or knock down open jumpers. Defensively, she also plays with versatility and gets her hands on a lot of passes. As a Freshman, Malika averaged 12.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.9 steals per game.
