Cardinal Classic: 2030s Added to the Radar

With each evaluation, another wave of promising prospects emerges, and the overall talent pool has the potential to mirror the historic Class of 2025. The more I watch this group, the more excited I become about the initial Prep Girls Hoops Kentucky Class of 2030 rankings, which are set to be released in September. She has a pretty shooting-form and is a microwave type scorer from the perimeter who can get hot quickly. She is also a talented ball handler and has good playmaking instincts. She possesses a good basketball build and has the ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Ava is a lethal outside shooter with a pure stroke and a repeatable release. She also showed she can put the ball on the floor, get into the lane, and find ways to score. A heady, athletic guard, Emory shoots the ball well from the perimeter but is at her best when she's attacking off the dribble. She has good speed, and likes to push the tempo in transition. What I loved most was her defensive intensity. She is a great rim runner who sprints the floor in transition, and knows how to make herself available for scoring opportunities. Shalia is also very active on the glass, using her size and motor to rebound effectively on both ends of the floor. She displayed solid post moves along with a nice face-up game. She had the hot hand from beyond the arc, connecting on three three-pointers and showcasing deep catch-and-shoot range. Although she's still young, her feel for the game and poise are well beyond her years. Ava is a very skilled guard who plays with confidence and has a little moxie to her game. She can score at all three levels and she is always looking to get her teammates involved.
