Class of 2028: Power Forwards Outside Top 100 To Know

The Prep Girls Hoops Rankings, even outside of the top 100 players in the class of 2028, hold immense talent. Here are five players who are unranked or outside the top 100 in the class that play the power forward position who could move up the rankings soon.    [player_tooltip player_id='884146' first='Claire' last='Hale'] takes pride on the defensive end of the floor.   Hale at the PF position serves as a great paint defender. She understands how to rotate. She is especially good at rotating when a cutter comes into the paint. In those situations, she usually can get a good contest or a shot block.   Hale also has a unique trait that makes her a good shot blocker, that being that she has a quick second jump. After jumping to contest one shot, she can be ready on a moment's notice to rise again off the floor and contest another.     [player_tooltip player_id='1859612' first='Xahara' last='Willis'] brings a dynamic overall skillset to the PF position.   Willis, as an interior player, is a confident jump shooter. She has a quick jumper and is not afraid to shoot over slight contests from defenders. She can make an impact behind the arc in any given game. She had multiple games this past season with two or more made 3-pointers.   Willis, on offense, can also at times play the role of a big guard, especially in transition. She has good dribbling skills and can get to the rim with a vicious euro step if needed. Willis is also not afraid to play the post-up game. She can score in these situations with her strength or even a turnaround fadeaway.     [player_tooltip player_id='1856971' first='Caroline' last='Baker'], in her sophomore season, established herself as an elite block threat.   Game in and game out, Baker defended the rim at an uber high level for Creek Wood High School last season. She had multiple outings where she had three or more blocks. At 5'11", Baker uses her size well as a shot blocker. But the main thing that makes her so good at blocking shots is her ability to step into open space. Many post players at the high school level back away when players drive. Baker, instead of this, when a player drives, steps up and meets them where they are at. Most of the time shuts down the players' drive immediately and gives them no noticeable window at a shot that could go in.   Baker is also an outstanding rebounder. In a game last season against Russell High School, she had 16 points and 15 rebounds.     [player_tooltip player_id='1859000' first='De'Aja' last='Marshall'] is definitely a rising junior to keep an eye on.   Marshall, throughout her high school career, has improved her perimeter shooting. She pairs that part of her game with a physical interior game. Marshall can score through contact in post-ups and can score in fastbreak scenarios. She is also extremely good at maneuvering in the paint. She does slight cuts in the low post to get open and catches opponents off guard by sliding in front of them for offensive rebounds.   Marshall also has some playmaking in her game. She is a good passer out of the high post.     [player_tooltip player_id='1248893' first='Ainsley' last='Mitchell'] is a tone setter on the defensive end.   Mitchell, on defense, especially shines in defending opposing interior players in post-ups. She has great predictiveness and does a good job at staying in front of her defensive assignment. The two traits of her game often allow her to get a hand on attempted passes out of the post. In a game against Christian Community School last season, she did this a couple of times. She had a total of four steals in this contest.
