Expert Analysis

Taylor has been a prospect to watch since 7th grade, and when you see her play, it’s not hard to see why multiple programs were interested. She is a workhorse and has no off button in how she plays. Tough is the word that comes to mind. She doesn’t back down from tie-ups and is not afraid to disrupt an offense. High motor, matched with a need to win. What she brings to the floor doesn’t need to be measured by how many points she physically scores because a majority of the points her team gets will come from her hustle and work. However, the development from a scoring standpoint will have to increase, but with time she can find herself being a 3&D or slasher type of player. Big fan of how this kid approaches each possession.

Taylor is one of the best up-and-coming talents in Illinois. She just finished 8th grade, and was playing up against older competition this weekend. But she still stood out as maybe the most talented player of the showcase.
Taylor is already playing with a level of confidence that you often will only see in high school seniors. She has a smooth 3-point stroke, she’s elusive when she’s going in for a layup, and she’s tough. When she has the ball in her hands, defenders are hesitant to stand in her way.
Taylor’s a very talented defensive player as well. She’s so active that when she’s hanging around the inbounder, she’ll often come up with a steal or tipped ball, and create a fast break opportunity. She’s so gritty and hard-nosed that she’ll jump right into a scrum and try to rip the ball out of someone else’s hands. And she’s quick enough to come out of nowhere to grab a rebound. At 5’8″, Taylor has already grown to a height that puts her above a lot of players. And on defense, you’ll still see her out guarding players who are 3-4 inches taller than her.
Taylor is also a great game manager. She runs the floor and controls the offense with ease. But she’s also encouraging to her teammates, and can pick others players up after a mistake.
She’s only been playing ball for 4 years, but appears to have developed a natural skill for the game.

Taylor is an absolute star in the making. She’s another player in the class of 2030, who’s competing this weekend against older competition. But not only does she hold her own-she dominates against players who are a year older than her.
Taylor’s game looks light years beyond where she’s playing now. The way she controls the ball, toys with the defense, and buries 3-pointers; you could almost see her already being able to run the point for a college team. She’s an excellent floor general, who not only has a supreme knowledge of the game; but she’s great at picking up her teammates and encouraging them after a mistake.
Taylor is so quick-she seems to always be in motion; which helps her defensive skills. She has the capacity to come out of nowhere for a steal, or streak across the wing for a rebound. And when she has the ball in her hands, opponents tend to get out of her way, because she puts her head down and goes right into the heart of the defense when she wants to.
Taylor scored 15 points in a loss to Team Herro , and then another 21 points in a win to close out the night. She’s another player that attracts attention from fans who just want to see supreme basketball talent. And she’ll be a highlight reel on the AAU circuit in the coming years.

Taylor has length, athleticism, and versatility that grab your attention. She turned in a solid effort for Example Sports UAA 15U at the Great Lakes Kickoff on Saturday. Taylor changed directions with a shifty crossover, split the gap, and scored in traffic with a smooth scoop finish. Her length and quickness laterally turned ball-handlers on the perimeter, while also making her an excellent rim protector. She closed out hard to block a shot on the perimeter and rejected two more shot attempts on drives. Taylor drives downhill with a burst, switches hands comfortably in the lane, and has a smooth outside jumper.

One of the more defensive-minded players I came across today. Taylor has a slight but noticeable edge to her game, playing with high energy and aggression that really shows up on the defensive end. She’s comfortable picking up on the perimeter, but can also track players down and get blocks in transition or on the drive. A lot of grit in how she plays.

Benet is always the place where talent can shine and young talent can develop, and Taylor will be in the mix of that. Her game is still raw, but you see flashes of how tough of a player she is physically, and skillfully she can turn into a 2/3 level player that can score well. Keep an eye on this kid over the next couple of years. The potential is there.
