Confident 13U Southeast Region Finals Competitors

The Southeast Region Finals at Columbus State University showcased some of the top young basketball talent from North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia. The event highlighted a new generation of athletes who are determined, disciplined, and eager to put in the work. The 13U division, in particular, featured several rising stars who made their presence felt and announced themselves as players to watch. She attacks the boards relentlessly on both the offensive and defensive ends, showing a relentless determination to secure every rebound. Defensively, she does an excellent job of stopping the ball and using her size to disrupt opponents. For such a young player, her physical presence is a major advantage, and she consistently makes it felt.   In the post, Hill does a great job of establishing position and calling for the ball. She uses strong footwork and an effective drop-step move to seal defenders behind her, making it extremely difficult for them to contest or stop her around the basket. A fearless point guard, Luu possesses a shifty handle and exceptional ability to break down defenders off the dribble. She consistently creates separation and puts pressure on opposing defenses with her quickness, creativity, and court awareness.   As a floor general, Luu excels at facilitating offense and finding open teammates, making everyone around her better. She is also a confident scorer who can knock down shots from all areas of the floor, whether contested or uncontested. Her offensive versatility makes her a constant threat every time she touches the ball.   What separates Luu is her relentless motor and competitive drive. She plays with intensity, energy, and a winning mentality that can change the momentum of a game. In pressure situations, she is the player every coach wants on the floor—poised, confident, and ready to make a play when it matters most. She embraces contact, using her strength and athleticism to draw fouls and create scoring opportunities at the rim. In addition to her ability to finish inside, she is a capable perimeter scorer who can knock down shots from mid-range and beyond the three-point line, making her a versatile offensive threat.   One of Asay's most impressive qualities is her court vision and basketball IQ. She does an excellent job of reading defenses, drawing help defenders, and creating opportunities for teammates through drive-and-kick situations. Her ability to find open shooters and make the right pass is a valuable asset, especially at her age level.   Defensively, Asay's athleticism allows her to be disruptive on the ball. She applies pressure to opposing ball handlers, anticipates passing lanes well, and has a knack for generating steals that quickly turn into transition scoring opportunities. Her combination of effort, athleticism, and playmaking ability makes her a well-rounded guard with significant upside.
