JSE Team Camp: Louisiana’s Next Wave of Talent

The future of Louisiana girls basketball was on full display at the JSE Team Camp in West Monroe.   The building was loaded with young talent, high-level competition, college coaches and prospects determined to make their names known. From explosive guards and versatile wings to powerful post players, the next wave of Louisiana basketball showed that the state's future is in great hands.   This event was about more than established stars. It gave rising prospects the opportunity to compete against elite competition, perform under pressure and prove they belong on the recruiting radar. Many of them took full advantage of the moment.   Young guards played with confidence beyond their years. They pushed the pace, attacked the paint, created for teammates and knocked down big shots. Several showed the ability to control games, make smart reads and deliver when the pressure increased.   The wings brought athleticism, length and versatility. They scored from multiple levels, defended several positions and made hustle plays that changed momentum. Their ability to contribute in different areas made them some of the most intriguing prospects in the building.   Inside, Louisiana's rising frontcourt talent brought serious power. Post players battled for position, protected the rim, controlled the glass and finished through contact. Some also stepped away from the basket and showed perimeter skills, giving college coaches a glimpse of how versatile this young group can become.   What made the event special was the fearlessness of the younger players.   They did not back down from older, more experienced competition. They welcomed the challenge, competed with toughness and showed that they were ready for the spotlight. Several prospects raised their stock by proving they could perform against some of the best players in the state.   The talent was obvious, but the competitive mindset stood out even more. These players communicated, defended, played with energy and stayed aggressive throughout the event. They were not simply trying to fit in—they were trying to take over.   West Monroe became the stage, and Louisiana's next generation delivered.   Some prospects strengthened reputations that were already growing. Others introduced themselves to evaluators and college coaches for the first time. A select group left the event with serious momentum and their names moving quickly up recruiting boards.   The JSE Team Camp showed that Louisiana's talent pool is deep, skilled and continuing to grow. The classes coming behind the state's established stars are loaded with speed, size, shooting, toughness and major upside.   These young prospects are no longer waiting for their turn. The young 2030 prospect refused to back down against Green Oaks and gave Hathaway the energy it needed to stay in the fight. Her hustle and aggressive downhill attack made her one of the most noticeable young players on the floor.   Delco played with purpose every possession. She attacked gaps, put pressure on the defense and showed no fear when driving toward the basket. Her willingness to get downhill created opportunities for herself and forced defenders to react, helping Hathaway build momentum during important stretches.   What stood out most was her motor.   Delco competed with nonstop effort, chased loose balls and brought the type of energy that can lift an entire team. She did not let the size of the moment or the strength of the opponent change how aggressively she played. She stayed locked in, battled through difficult possessions and continued making effort plays.   Delco is still early in her development, but the foundation is already there. She has the competitive spirit, attacking mentality and heart coaches look for in a young prospect. As her ball handling, shooting and decision-making continue to develop, her ceiling could rise quickly.   Moni Delco is an emerging 2030 prospect who deserves to be monitored closely.   She played with heart. She attacked with confidence. She made her presence felt.   The name may still be new to some, but after her performance at JSE, Moni Delco is officially a young Louisiana prospect to keep on the radar. The 6'0” Terrebonne post brought size, skill, and a strong physical presence to the floor, and she consistently made her impact felt where good post players do the most damage — inside the paint and on the glass. Her Prep Girls Hoops profile lists her as a 6'0” PF/C from Terrebonne who plays for Mississippi All In, and recent Prep Girls Hoops coverage has highlighted her as one of Louisiana's top young frontcourt prospects.   White's biggest strength at JSE was her work down low. She showed real control in the paint, used her frame well, and played with the kind of patience and strength that allowed her to establish position and finish plays around the basket. She was productive around the rim and did a strong job using her size to create extra opportunities. The notes from the event also matched what stood out most — she looked like a really skilled post player who understands how to operate in traffic and make herself a factor in the half court.   She also made her presence felt on the boards. White used her size to rebound with authority, tracked the ball well, and gave her team extra possessions by cleaning up misses. She did not need every possession designed for her to get noticed. Her value came through her energy, physicality, defensive effort and willingness to make the tough plays that help a team compete.   Scott plays with an aggressive and fearless mentality. She attacks the basket with purpose, welcomes contact and looks to put pressure on the defense instead of settling. Her downhill approach gives her opportunities to finish at the rim, draw fouls and create openings for her teammates.   What continues to separate Scott is her heart and hustle. She competes for loose balls, stays active around the action and refuses to take possessions off. Her motor gives her team an emotional lift, and her willingness to do the dirty work makes her more valuable than the box score may always show.   Defensively, Scott brought toughness and discipline. She moved her feet well, battled to stay in front of ball handlers and applied physical pressure without backing away from difficult assignments. Her effort, footwork and competitive edge give her the foundation to develop into a dependable on-ball and multi-positional defender.   Scott also displayed leadership through her attitude. She describes herself as mentally tough, highly competitive and positive with teammates. Those qualities were reflected in the way she carried herself, continued competing and worked alongside others throughout the event.   Her journey also speaks to her resilience. After suffering an ankle sprain in February 2025 that challenged her mentally and physically, Scott continued working her way back. That experience appears to have strengthened the toughness and determination she now brings to the floor.   At the JSE Team Camp, [player_tooltip player_id='1873311' first='Reagan' last='Scott'] showed why she remains an intriguing young prospect in Louisiana's 2029 class. She possesses a strong frame, an aggressive attacking mentality and a defensive mindset that can help her impact winning.   The next step will be continuing to tighten her handle, expand her finishing package and build confidence in her perimeter game. Maddie Mouton made her presence felt around the basket at the JSE Team Camp, showing why she is becoming one of the young frontcourt names to watch in Louisiana's 2029 class.   The 6'1” Sam Houston prospect played with strength, activity and confidence inside. She attacked the glass, secured rebounds in traffic and repeatedly turned missed shots into points. Once Mouton got her hands on the ball near the rim, she finished putbacks with control and made the defense pay for failing to box her out.   Her performance was built on effort and instincts. Mouton tracked shots well, fought for position and stayed active after the initial attempt. She did not stand and watch the play develop—she went after the basketball and created extra possessions for her team. That second-effort mentality made her a serious factor in the paint.   What makes Mouton especially intriguing is that she is more than a stationary post. Public profiles have identified her as both a forward and a 6'1” guard, reflecting the length, mobility and position flexibility that give her considerable upside. Prep Girls Hoops has also highlighted her size, athleticism, shot-blocking ability and potential to attack inside.   She has already attracted college attention as well, receiving an offer from Southeastern Louisiana University early in her high school career. That recognition supports what her play is beginning to show: the tools are real, the ceiling is high and coaches are already paying attention.   Mouton also brings the right competitive outlook. While discussing Sam Houston's young roster, she described the team's youth as a strength and emphasized how dangerous the group could become by continuing to grow together.   At the JSE Team Camp, Maddie Mouton owned the boards, cleaned up misses and brought a powerful interior presence. She has the size, motor and natural rebounding ability to become a major problem as her skill set continues to expand.   Big rebounds. Easy putbacks. Serious upside.   Maddie Mouton is not simply a young player with potential—she is a rising 2029 prospect already making noise, earning offers and putting college coaches on notice. The young Fairview guard was aggressive, fearless and completely locked in, bringing a nonstop motor that allowed her to impact the action on both ends of the floor.   Clement plays the game at full speed. She attacks gaps without hesitation, gets downhill quickly and constantly forces the defense to react. Her first step and aggressive mentality allow her to reach the paint, finish around the basket and create opportunities for teammates when additional defenders collapse.   She also showed that she can score from every level. Clement attacked the rim, found openings in the mid-range and remained a threat from behind the arc. She handled defensive pressure with confidence, kept her dribble alive and continued making plays even when opponents attempted to speed her up.   But her offense was only part of the show.   Defensively, Clement was a serious problem. She competed with toughness, stayed attached to her assignment and showed the ability to guard multiple positions. Her quick feet, active hands and determination made every possession uncomfortable for opposing ball handlers. She did not take plays off and brought the same energy defensively that she displayed when attacking the basket.   That relentless motor is what separates her.   Clement plays like every possession matters. She pressures the ball, fights through contact, pushes the pace and refuses to back away from a challenge. Her confidence and competitive edge are impressive for such a young prospect, especially against older and more experienced players.   Her background with Fairview's championship program has already exposed her to winning habits, high expectations and pressure basketball. She has also continued testing herself at major evaluation events, earning recognition as one of Louisiana's promising guards in the 2030 class.
