Last week, before the scholastic live period, I attended a three-day camp, put on by Travis Diener, that included around 70 talented incoming freshmen from Wisconsin. I spent most of the three days learning about some of the 2030s before they get to high school in the fall, and taking notes on most of the players there. I didn't end up getting notes on every player, but we will look at some of the players who stood out from the three-day event in Mequon and what they bring to the floor.

The future Winnconne guard impressed me at the Cheesehead Challenge the weekend before camp, and looked solid against dozens of other talented 2030s. Swanlund handles the ball well and controls the tempo of her team's offense at the point of attack. I thought she played hard and competed well with anyone who lined up on the opposite side of her.

Wolf is a future Notre Dame Triton and played well when I watched her in drills or in the 5v5 portion of proceedings. She competed well on the defensive end and used her length to make plays on the perimeter. Wolf also has a solid jumper and was a threat off the catch on the offensive end. It also helps that she's willing to go the extra mile, hustle, and make extra-effort plays.

The La Crosse native has a chance to be one of the best shooters in the state over her four-year career. Check is an undersized guard who probably excels more as a two than she does a one, solely because she's good at getting to her spots and scoring from all three levels. She has excellent footwork, and her shot looks the same off the dribble as it does in catch-and-shoot opportunities. She attacks every drill at full speed, and she loves to compete.

The Kettle Moraine newcomer has physical tools I'm not sure I've seen in another Laser. Kratky is a skilled 6-1 wing who can put the ball on the floor, move her feet on defense, and has the size to overpower guards around the basket. There is plenty of room for her to grow, but there is a lot to like about where she's at heading into her first high school season. However, she could be a player who could change the ceiling of the current iteration of Kettle Moraine this coming season.
