Does The Main Stage Really Have All The Top Scholarship Talent?

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The first live period of July wrapped up earlier this week. While the shoe circuit events are usually where the bulk of college coaches are, that does not mean all the talent is on the main stage. There are still plenty of events across the country with talented players who may fall under the radar simply because they are not on a leading shoe circuit. Whether that is Puma, New Balance, or non sponsored programs, there are still names that coaches should be paying attention to. Below are a few prospects who fit that category, and regardless of where they play next, coaches should have them on their schedules.</h3>    Green can give you whatever you need on the court, and that goes for both sides of the ball. Defensively, she is long, athletic, has a motor, and has no problem gambling when she sees a chance to make a play. The offense is where she really starts to show her talent, and outside of scoring, she is a lethal playmaker. Since she draws so much attention when the ball is in her hands, she knows how to bring more eyes her way and create something for someone else. But when she is looking to score, she is a tough matchup for anyone. Her creativity, length, outside shooting, and simple ball handling make her a true three level threat. This is a player who could become a household name wherever she lands in college.     There is a ton of upside with Marble, and the fact that she's been playing for pure enjoyment and energy gives an extra boost of potential as well. She is the perfect length to be a 1 guard at the next level, given her vision and creativity, and she has a strong set of handles to match. On the scoring end, she's sharpening those tools and shows she can score from the outside as well as get to the rim and finish with contact. Defense is what will set her apart as she gets older. She's long and agile and can defend both the paint and the perimeter. Time is on her side, and with the right development she can be a top tier prospect within the next year or two.     On the offensive end of the floor is where you get to see the best of Riley, and it is not all scoring. A majority of it comes from her playmaking and how she uses pace to get things done. In the open floor, she can get where she needs to be and knows how to time it perfectly, whether she finishes it, kicks it ahead, or drops it off for an easier bucket. That same awareness applies on the defensive side too, and she has no problem getting in the mix or fighting for the ball. She has quick hands, solid foot movement, strength, and good instincts. There is major upside here.     Estabrook has a pure and solid skill set at this point in her career, and it was on display throughout her freshman season. Going into AAU ball, her role changed a bit, which allowed her to display other parts of her game that didn't require scoring. On the defensive side, her frame gets it done, and though she's still adding athleticism and getting quicker, she doesn't just give up on plays. There's still a strong amount of energy being displayed. She has the tools to bring in some quality offers as the years go by, and as she continues to add more consistency on the offensive end, I don't doubt that she'll be a one hell of a two way player.     There is no doubt about Kassing's skill set. She's a crafty three level scorer who can score in isolation as well as within the flow of the game. She has a good sense of when to flip back and forth, and no matter what role it is, there's impact. A skillset like this is one coaches know they can build from. The only question is whether it translates to higher competition and against better competition. I believe the length, the pace, and the energy can't translate. And if her development continues as it is, I don't see a major reduction against tougher players. Strong potential.
