She knocked down a 3 from the top of arc as part of the secondary break. She is confident from the arc as shown by a corner 3 hit over the closeout. She showed strength backing down defenders on the block and scoring over them. Sophia displayed good footwork on the block and finished with both hands around the rim. She beat the hard charging closeout and off one dribble she got to spots to knock it down. In the half court, she made good hard cuts through the lane and was always showing her hands. She did a good job on the offensive glass keeping possessions alive. She caught the ball in space at the foul line and attacked the rim. She did a great job making herselff available on the block when her defender stepped to help and got easy layups as a result. She is patient with the ball and gets to scoring spots by taking good angles on drives and finishes. She showed excellent court vision on dribble drive by reading the second defender and dropping it off to teammates for layups when the help came. In a win over Connecticute Elite, Alaysia knocked down 10 3-pointers. That is not a misprint! She was in a groove, getting to spots, shooting in rhythm and playing with complete confidence. On one back door cut, she beat the defender, caught the ball going to the rim and, when the help came, she dropped a dime to a cutting teammate for a layup. Though she finished multiple times by just being more physical than her opponent, she displayed athleticism and creativity on a baseline drive that she finished with a reverse layup.
