Tennessee Girls Tearing It Up On The Circuit

Sure, the NBA Summer League is going on. The WNBA is doing their thing, but also the NCAA Live Period events are going on around the country. No matter the platform, there are a lot of good ballplayers and a lot of good ball being played. When kids get the opportunity to compete at a high level and showcase their skills, that's when the game, in my opinion, gets really exciting. Especially when a kid gets to measure themselves up against someone who may be highly-touted, that's what it's all about.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As you all know, the state of Tennessee has tons of travel ball programs with quality student-athletes. The goal, obviously, is to get better while showcasing your talent in front of collegiate coaches. Wins are important, but at the same time, gaining that valuable on-court experience and balling out is what you want. This past weekend, I would say a number of Tennessee girls left lasting impressions on college coaches. If I were a college coach looking at the talent landscape, there would be a lot of hard decisions to make based on multiple things. Our Tennessee girls showed out and really created a name for themselves (and programs), and it's just good to see the recognition and the level of quality basketball we have in this state.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We will continue to cover these awesome athletes throughout and uncover new gems along the way. This young lady was in her bag, owning the paint. She was establishing herself down low, finishing through contact, really being a key component to her squad bringing home the hardware. This kid is a solid two-way player who owns the paint and plays with a motor. Being shifty, she was able to create off the dribble and attack downhill. She was a threat with the ball in her hands, keeping opponents on their heels as she was in full force. This kid showcased her ability to score from multiple levels, but also her crazy good passing ability that led to open shot attempts. Smooth. This young lady is a jack of all trades. A kid who is passionate about the game just gets after it on both ends of the floor. Isn't afraid to defend the other team's best player, but will then turn around and give opponents fits on the offensive end. 3 ball here. Shot fake, blow by, and finish at the rim. This young lady's game has risen to new heights, and her impact is felt throughout. A tough competitor who competes at everything at a high level, is climbing onto collegiate coaches' radars. With a frame (and similar game as Paige Bueckers), this kid can impact the game in more ways than one. Had a great tournament where she not only showed coaches what her game was about, but also displayed solid defense and leadership.
