Notable 2028s Wrapping Up July: Part 1

The Class of 2028 continues to build momentum with strong performances throughout July. They have showcased their development on both ends of the floor. Here are 7 players to know heading into the final evaluation period of the summer.    Jones is a shifty point guard who controls the pace of the game, using a deadly crossover to break ankles while reading the defense and putting her teammates in position to score. She is a true facilitator, penetrating the paint before finding open shooters, delivering timely passes, and keeping the offense organized with smart decision-making. She can also score from all over the perimeter, knocking down threes from the top of the key, wing, and corner.     Long is a versatile playmaker who impacts the game as both a scorer and facilitator, capable of knocking down threes, attacking the basket, and finishing around the rim. She has excellent floor vision, slowing the pace when needed to read the defense, making sharp entry and transition passes, and creating scoring opportunities for her teammates with her unselfish approach. She also contributes on the defensive end by generating steals, running the floor for the outlet, and making plays on both sides of the ball.     Krycinski is a confident perimeter shooter who finds open space and stays ready to fire, making defenses pay with her smooth, repeatable release. She knocked down threes from the corner, wing, and top of the key while showing excellent off-ball movement, relocating in transition and cutting at the right moments to create scoring opportunities. She can also finish at the rim, giving her a well-rounded offensive game that extends beyond her impressive outside shooting.     Johnson is a pure shooter who gets to her spots in transition and stays ready to knock down threes from the wing and corner. She has a fundamentally sound, consistent shooting stroke with a smooth follow-through, allowing her to connect on multiple threes and stretch the floor. She also showed the ability to create for herself, using a sweep move to attack a closeout and pull up for a short jumper while knocking down a clutch step-back jumper.     Nicholson is a top-notch shooter, catching fire from from beyond the arc with a consistent stroke that produced multiple threes from the wing and corner. She stays shot-ready in triple threat, thrives on catch-and-shoot opportunities, and knocks down kickout passes in transition while holding her follow-through. She also makes strong attacks downhill, finishing through contact for an and-one.     Winfield is a powerful scorer who creates offense with the ball in her hands, knocking down pull-up jumpers, transition threes, and strong finishes at the rim. She reads the floor well, attacking gaps when defenders overplay her while showing he ability to score at all three levels. She also plays with tremendous effort, diving for loose balls and making hustle plays that reflect her competitiveness and team-first mentality.     Wolfe is an extremely active forward with great length and a high IQ. She makes timely cuts, moves the ball well in transition and the half court, and creates extra possessions by crashing the offensive glass, securing loose balls, and finishing second-chance opportunities. Defensively, she protects the rim, disrupts passing lanes, and blocks shots, making her a versatile presence around the basket.
