Unranked 2029 Prospects from the Border Region

The New York Border Region is chock-full of talented hoopers. Players in the Class of 2029 are just beginning their high school careers for the most part. Many players are not yet ranked, but likely will be soon as their stock continues to rise and they put themselves in front of eyes. Here is a glance at some of the 2029 prospects who are not yet ranked, but could be soon.    [player_tooltip player_id='1871454' first='Holly' last='Hirsch'] is on our Class of 2029 Watch List, but is sure to move up the list next season. Hirsch is a multi-sport athlete with tremendous athletic ability. It is difficult to find flaws in Hirsch's skill set. She is a complete player. Hirsch is an elite outside shooter with deep range. She can shoot equally as well off the catch or the dribble. Hirsch has a solid handle, excellent court vision, and always seems to find the open player. She runs the floor well and is a strong finisher on the break. Hirsch is also a strong defender and rebounds well for her size.     [player_tooltip player_id='1871470' first='Molly' last='Shaver'] of Berne-Knox-Westerlo is a player I watched play a few times during the Section 2 playoffs this winter. Shaver is a rising sophomore who plays above her grade level. She is a lethal 3-point shooter who can score from anywhere on the floor. Shaver can drive to the basket or pull up and hit shorter jumpers. She plays under control and does a solid job of controlling the pace. Shaver will be a player to keep a close eye on as she progresses over the next three seasons.     As a rising sophomore, [player_tooltip player_id='1884352' first='Avery' last='Ostrander'] may already be one of the most outstanding 3-point shooters in the region. Ostrander has several games this season where she connected on five or more treys. She is not just a shooter, however. Ostrander is a superb ballhandler and understands how to direct an offense. She is the textbook example of a floor general. Ostrander has tremendous court vision and is a very good passer who finds teammates for open looks. She also can defend multiple positions.     Talented "Bigs" are difficult to find in the Border Region, and [player_tooltip player_id='1884367' first='Camdyn' last='Dunham'] is one with a ton of skills. Especially at a young age, with time to grow and improve. Dunham is dominant in the paint. She is already a double-double machine, scoring points and hauling down boards. Her long wingspan allows her to be an outstanding basket protector. Dunham registers multiple blocked shots a game. The sky is the limit for Dunham, who could develop into one of the best centers to come out of the Capital District.     [player_tooltip player_id='1871455' first='Sandra' last='Cirilla'] is a player currently on our Watch List for the Class of 2029, but should soon break into the rankings. Cirilla is a three-level scorer who knows how to find ways to put the rock in the hoop. She is super at creating her own shot opportunities, always playing downhill and looking to get to the rim. Cirilla is an outstanding ballhandler. She is a very good shooter from behind the arc from every spot on the floor. Her range is unlimited, often connecting on shots from a few feet behind the 3-point. Perhaps her greatest strength is the way she splits defenders and attacks the basket off the bounce. The sky is the limit for this explosive natural scorer.
