2028s Summer Stock Report: Part 2

The Class of 2028 continues to be one to watch in Virginia. As they prepare to enter junior year, their development this summer provided a glimpse of the impact they can make on both ends of the floor. Here are 5 players who stood out with their play during club season.    Lewis is a consistent perimeter shooter who can spot up from anywhere on the arc and quickly get into her release when teammates find her. While the three is her strong suit, she can also create off the dibble, attack when the shot isn't there and pull up in the mid-range, while making cuts to score around the basket. She also uses anticipation and active hands defensively to jump passing lanes and turn steals into fast break layups.     Hodge is a shifty, aggressive guard who attacks gaps, embraces contact and protects the ball when finishing with defenders on her hip. She creates separation with her handle and footwork, can knock down threes and makes smart reads with the ball, whether splitting defenders, finding an open shooter or hitting a cutter. She also brings noticeable energy to the floor, playing with enthusiasm and competitiveness that her teammates can feed off of.     Ingram is a smart three-level scorer who reads what the defense gives her, finding gaps to create off the dribble while also showing a smooth, relaxed release from three. She makes herself available on the perimeter and can knock down the three as soon as she catches the ball, but will adjust when the look isn't there by attacking space and pulling up for a closer jumper. She also keeps the offense moving with good ball movement and decision-making, while turning loose balls into aggressive takes and finishes through contact.     Allen is a versatile guard who creates for herself and others, delivering well-timed passes to open shooters and teammates running the floor while also looking for her own opportunities to score. She uses a strong crossover and step-back to create separation, pulling up off the dribble or using her handle to attack the basket, and running the floor and cutting into position for easy finishes. Defensively, she applies pressure and plays with good effort, forcing turnovers and getting on the floor to secure the ball.     Winfield is a three-level scorer who shoots the ball with confidence, whether spotting up from three, using a ball screen to create a look or pulling up for a jumper in transition. She moves well without thee ball and cuts for opportunities at the rim, while also reading the floor on her attacks and finding open shooters on the weak side. Defensively, she shows active hands and good anticipation, jumping passing lanes to create steals and quickly looking to push the ball up in transition.
