FL-GA Fall Showcase: Talent at Nearly Every Position

The FL-GA Fall Showcase featured talent at nearly every position on the floor. From quick point guards who created in transition to versatile wings, shooters, forwards, and physical post players, there was no shortage of prospects making an impact. Players stood out in different ways and with different skill sets. In this article, we take a look at another group of prospects who showcased their talent at the FL-GA Fall Showcase.    [player_tooltip player_id='1223165' first='Brianna' last='Valenza'] turned some heads at the FL-GA Showcase with her speed and basketball instincts. She pushed the pace with her speed and ability to get up the floor and lead the break. Valenza also showed can get downhill and attack the rim, where she finished with both touch and creativity. One play in particular stood out as she attacked the basket, double-clutched in the air, and finished softly off the glass with some English. Valenza's quickness and creativity make her an intriguing guard, especially when she gets out in the open court.     [player_tooltip player_id='974196' first='Trinity' last='Dinkins'] was making plays throughout the event, and one thing about Dinkins's game is that the defense has to defend the entire court. Dinkins can attack the rim, has a nice midrange, and can maneuver in the paint with good footwork and spin moves. The Junior forward has good court vision and the ability to push the ball- she handles it well from the forward position. Dinkins all-around game makes her an intriguing prospect to watch.     [player_tooltip player_id='400813' first='Asiana' last='McCreary'] made a splash at the FL-GA Showcase and stood out with her defense, rebounding, and ability to make plays in transition. With many of the games featuring fast breaks on nearly every possession, McCreary's ability to get up and down the court was highlighted. She can take advantage of power forwards and centers who have difficulty keeping up with her in transition, allowing her to create mismatches and scoring opportunities. McCreary has also demonstrated the versatility to play in a variety of offensive systems, making her a valuable piece who can impact the game without needing the offense to run through her.     Gabby Webby connected on a step-back three-pointer, and that was all I needed to see. At 6'1, Webber also stood out just with her ability to handle the ball and get up and down the court and attack the rim off the bounce. She stood out with her ability to impact the game in multiple areas of the court. She can stretch the floor, create with the ball in her hands, and use her size advantage when shooting over smaller defenders and attacking the basket. Webber was also a playmaker, and one play comes to mind. She grabs a rebound and goes coast to coast. At gthe last moment, she throws a perfect bounce pass to a guard on the wing for a beautiful layup. Webber can play multiple positions and do so at a high rate. She is a special young player in the making.     [player_tooltip player_id='912251' first='Ella' last='Crowe'] showed splashes of her game, especially around the basket. Crowe is at her best when attacking the rim to score. She made several splashes getting to the rim. Crowe is a volume three-point shooter, but the strongest part of her game is around the basket, where her tenacity and competitiveness take over. Crowe is also a clutch player who you want to have the ball in her hand during crunch time.     [player_tooltip player_id='1894836' first='London' last='Jackson'] had a coming-out party at the FL/GA Showcase. Jackson played with a lot of energy and used her strength and power down on the block to score and rebound at a high rate. Jackson also accepted her defensive assignments, and she made every 4 and 5 she defended work to score. Jackson ran the floor well and scored a few times during transition. Jackson has the ability to contribute as an work horse energy player. She emerged as a player capable of making and impact on the upcoming season.     [player_tooltip player_id='1249997' first='Faith' last='Palao'] was active and impactful all over the floor. She took a pass on the baseline, stepped back behind the three-point line, and hit nothing but nets. As good as she shot the ball, it was her court awareness and ball IQ that stood out. Sher pressed on the ball, played good helspside defense, and showed no fear sticking her nose in the midst of the bigs. Palao was a fluid athlete on the court.
