Florida Freshmen Showcase: Team 3 Evaluations

A large number of Florida's best 2030 basketball players were in attendance for the 2026 Prep Girls Hoops Florida Freshmen Showcase. Several players I knew heading into the event, but for the most part this was the first time I have watched these kids play. Overall, the level of talent was very impressive with multiple new players going up on my 2030 watchlist. Team Four was a well-balanced team that played well together as a unit.    It didn't take long to notice the skill and smoothness with which Anai operates with on the offensive end. The southpaw scored from all three levels consistently throughout 3 on 3 play. Braxton is a strong kid that used her power on the inside to score, but also showed touch shooting and making several shots from the perimeter. Braxton did not waste dribbles or force bad shots, instead picked and chose when to be aggressive on offense with very good results. Her game translated well in five on five play with similar results.     Bair was one of the few players at camp at her size with the ability to play on the perimeter. On one play she took the ball coast to coast before crossing the ball over and hitting a step-back pull up jump shot from the free throw in transition. Bair had another player her size on her and forced her keep back pedaling back in transition and whenever Peyton got in range and had the space, she showed good form and follow through on her shot. Bair is a skilled player who moves really well and was involved in a lot of the action for her team when she was on the court.     Myla was another player who I did not know coming into the event, but definitely one that I will remember after seeing her operate with confidence and composure on the offensive end. Duber shot the ball very well from the perimeter with really nice form when the ball was released out of her hand. She also was very crafty off the dribble, getting into the painted area several times before scoring or finding an open teammate. Duber was a smooth operator who played with a maturity beyond her years.     In a world where scoring gets most of the attention, Leopoldino it was her throwback point guard style that got my attention during three versus three. She did more than enough to show she is a threat to score the basketball from the from the painted area back out beyond the three-point line. Sophia handles the ball very well and showed a little flair with impressive, but meaningful dribble combinations. When she got past the first line of defense off the bounce, she kept her head up and found open teammates for easy scores. Defensively, I saw her cause and create turnovers guarding multiple different ball handlers over the course of the showcase.     Cree stood out with her movement on the offensive end without the basketball. She stayed in constant motion cutting to the basket and cutting from the block up to the wing. She showed very good fundamentals and a good understanding of the game. Daniel did a very good job keeping her head up while handling the basketball and advanced it up the court several times for easy baskets in transition. Defensively, Daniel was very good on the ball and in help situations during five on five play. She created several more offensive chances for both her 3 versus 3 and five versus five by crashing the offensive board hard and grabbing loose balls.     Noel is a kid who looks the part already with good height and length and broad shoulders as well. She is already a strong kid but will only get bigger and more powerful over the next four years. She is a player who impacted the games I saw on the inside and also on the perimeter on both ends. Ashlynn rebounded the ball well and defended her position in both 3 on 3 and five versus five. She showed the ability to finish around the rim on Sunday and with continued offensive skill development could be an inside-out threat in high school the next four years.     Patterson played hard and with a very high motor over the course of the four hours at Seminole Sports Academy. Defensively, Juliana did a very good job keeping her assigned player in front of her while also applying on-ball pressure. She did a good job communicating with her teammates on defense as well. Offensively, Pattersons showed skill handling and shooting the basketball and got the ball where it needed to go in a hurry, rather than forcing bad shots. She passed up a couple open shots for even better ones, closer to the basket showing a good basketball IQ.     Taylor has good size at the guard position it used it to well to rebound for her position as well as defend opposing players on the perimeter. Taylor showed toughness and good movement with her feet guarding the ball. When Jasmene had possession of the ball she played with unselfishness and put the team first. Taylor was active on both ends of the floor for her team in five on five and was especially good pushing the ball in transition. She played hard the entire showcase.
