PGH Freshman Showcase: Team 2 Evaluation

The upcoming freshman showed us that they are ready to play their first high school season. There were a lot of veteran plays, and these athletes left it all on the floor after playing (3) 5v5 games on the day. She was one of the best post players in the gym. Her size created matchup problems, and she showed she could score even with double team. Knows how to finish at the rim and through contact. Always working to get position on the block and always in scoring position. Soft hands that allow her to catch and finish high as well as rebound in traffic. Knows how to create off the dribble as well as shoot the mid-range shot. A player that gets up the floor quickly and knows how to run the lanes for easy finishes. She knows how to get to the open spots and be down and ready to shoot. A player that knows how to read the next pass and is not afraid to shoot with little space. In 8 minutes, she had over 14 points with her ability to finish at the basket. Always running rim to rim and keeping her head on a swivel. Once she catches it deep on the block, she finishes. She showed she could pick up and defend full court if needed. Runs the floor off ball and even pushes the ball hard in transition. She was the one to get her team going and get to the loose balls. Shifty handles which allow her to manage the game. She showed she can score from all different spots and angles. A player that knows how to contort her body and absorb the contact. She made some tough moves in the paint and some tough plays with the defender draped all over her. A shooter as well who is always running the floor and going at a fast pace. A player that can shoot the ball consistently from mid-range and even will pull the 3 ball in transition. Always around the basketball on offense and defense.
