Prospects Making a Splash at Invite Only Sports Elite Showcase

The Invite Only Elite Showcase at San Jose Prep featured a number of talented prospects. This look focuses on the players who made an impression in the time we had to watch. Whether it was athleticism, a polished skill set, or flashes of potential, these prospects gave us a glimpse of what they bring to the floor and made enough of a splash to earn recognition.    It's becoming a common theme whenever Iliana Dorvilus steps on the floor. The senior guard plays with the heart of a champion, bringing energy, toughness, and consistent production from start to finish. At the Invite Only Elie showcase, Dorvilus handled the ball with confidence, directed the offense like a true floor general, and consistently made the right passing reads. When the opportunity presented itself, she was equally capable of attacking and scoring in the teeth of the defense, making her a difficult player to contain. Dorvilus was a standout at last year's Inside Emposure tournament as well as the recent FABC showcase in Gainesville. The young guard has consistently made a splash everywhere she has played. Her athleticism immediately jumped off the page, and she paired it with a smooth jump shot, outstanding court awareness, and a polished all-around game. Hayes knocked down the three with confidence, attacked the rim effectively, and made her presence felt on the defensive end. This all in a short period of time. Her combination of skill, poise, and athleticism made her one of the showcase's most impressive prospects.     White looked like the most dominant player on the floor. She combined strength, agility, and physicality to make a huge splash at the showcase. White ran the floor with purpose, showing the ability to either initiate the fast break herself or fill the lanes in transition. She converted several impressive transition baskets, rebounded at a high level, and demonstrated the ability to push the ball after securing the rebound. Her combination of power, mobility, and relentless motor was on full display, making her one of the event's most impactful performers.     Whitney Houston was one of the most impressive young guards at the Invite Only Elite Showcase. Her blazing speed immediately stood out, as she glided effortlessly up and down the floor while consistently leaving defenders behind. Houston's explosive first step allowed her to get wherever she wanted on the court, and she showed the ability to attack effectively going either left or right. On one play, she finished with creativity and touch, converting a reverse layup in traffic. Her combination of elite quickness, speed, and body control makes her a dynamic playmaker who should have a breakout year this upcoming season. She attacked off the dribble with purpose, using her athleticism and quick first step to consistently get into the paint and finish at the rim. Carter also showed the ability to knock down the three, making her a threat at all three levels. She played with decisiveness, confidence, and pace, never hesitating to make a play. Carter appears to have regained the form that made her her team's No. 1 offensive option as a freshman. After earning college offer this past summer, she looks poised for a strong senior season that should result in more offers. At the Invite Only Elite Showcase, she shot the ball well from the perimeter, pushed the pace in transition, and did an excellent job directing the offense. Wilson consistently got her team into its offensive sets while making sound decisions with the basketball. Her poise, leadership, and ability to score when needed makes Wilson an elite young point guard in the making.
