2026 PGH IA Expo Preview: Post Prospects Ready To Participate

We have seen games over the years where Ryder won't let in a bucket in the painted area. Not just to her own individual matchup but against the entire opposing team. Her mixture of size, discipline, smarts, and athletic ability is second-to-none right now and all of that ability is going to take her to the college level at the end of her high school career. Ryder is going to come into this event as the highest rated big in attendance. This will be one of the first times we will get to see Peterson against Division-1 level type talent out of the Post position. Their starting Center is listed at over 6'2 and she is one of the tallest/most productive Bigs in the state at any Class or Age level then you pair that with [player_tooltip player_id='1245087' first='Ellasyn' last='Whitmore'], who is listed as a 6'0 SF, and you start to see how these two could be very good together over the next few years. Whitmore already checks off a lot of boxes college recruiters have. She has the size, she is coordinated with a soft touch, she isn't afraid to get physical, and she is seasoned against other talented hoopers from her times on the road with her [program_tooltip program_id='713071' first='Play4Him' last='Academy'] program. That is because she is going to be an 8th grader this Winter and we just haven't seen her play live too much up until this point, which there is nothing wrong with that. What I can tell you is that Schroeder is already standing at 6'0. She is more of a SF/CG type player but she is still extremely raw within her own skilled abilities on the court. The skill stuff will come to her with time and experience. The more she plays, the more comfortable she will become and she already possesses the physical attributes to take her to the next level eventually. She just needs to get on the court and figure out what her true position is. Dorrity is your prototypical Forward with how she plays the game. She works inside to out, doing most of her work by the bucket but she is talented enough to take from outside the 15FT mark and she can also step to the outside to screen or roll or to screen and pop for a little mid-range pull-up. Defensively, she can move between multiple positions on defense right now - giving it her all and usually recording some noteworthy results in her efforts. Dorrity is starting to see college offers come in so I hope this event helps her realize where she stacks up within the state. She plays a solid game and that game is good enough to compete at the collegiate level one day. It just depends at which level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
