Fall Rankings Rundown: 2027 Centers

It's September, which means it's time for the rankings throughout the site to be updated. About a week and a half ago we released the updated list of 2027 prospects, but I would like to turn my attention to the centers in this article. Below is a list of those prospects with "center" listed as their primary position, followed by some attention for the newcomers, and a look at a couple of ladies who are on the rise.   .    NEWCOMERS:    Sophia is a bit undersized, but she is very strong, she works incredibly hard, and she always seems to find ways to produce. She is almost always going to rebound well, because she pursues and boxes out both, plus she does a nice job of positioning herself inside. She has soft hands, solid touch in the mid-post, and she has shown the ability to put it on the floor a couple of dribbles and attack the basket North/South. I think she could be a nice "culture" type of kid at the small college level.     Olivia has some similarities to [player_tooltip player_id='1538865' first='Sophia' last='Dickey'] (above) in that she always plays with great effort, she likes contact and physicality, and she outplays her height. Olivia has some length, she's a solid all-around athlete, plus she's an effective rebounder and versatile defender. She has some touch facing the basket as well, so she can be utilized in both pick-and-roll & pick-and-pop situations. I think she's another small college prospect who could bring a lot of hustle plays, toughness, and energy.     Janiya is an intriguing post prospect who is definitely flying under the radar right now, because she hasn't been a grassroots participant. She has a strong frame, nice length, and she doesn't mind physicality. She is best at the defensive end of the floor right now, where she is a strong rebounder, an effective shot-blocker, and she just clogs the paint in general. At the same time, she will need some work offensively, but in the right college program, I think she has enough potential to develop into a nice post player.    .   STOCK-RISERS:    From the first "live" period in April, to the middle-end of July, Kenleigh really stood out and created a following of college coaches for herself. She has a strong, muscular frame, she has some bounce to her as well, and she is very active. She has learned how to finish around the basket, especially with a soft little half-hook she likes to go to. She started to add a nice mid-post game as the Summer went on, and she is a versatile, multilevel defender who can protect the paint or come out to the perimeter.     Courtney is a post prospect with a nice ceiling, and she has yet to reach it yet. She has a long frame, with long arms and legs, but she also has strength in her shoulders and torso. She can sit down and post with physicality, she has some low-post finishing moves, but as she starts to expand her game, she could be a problem because she does seal well. Defensively, she runs the floor, she does a nice job of utilizing her length, and she pursues rebounds. After her two years of Junior College, she could draw full scholarship offers.
