Florida Freshman Showcase: Team 5 Evaluations

Team 5, was a group of freshmen who are still in the early stages of their development, but the potential was easy to see. Every player came ready to compete, accepted coaching, and displayed flashes of their skill sets. With continued instruction, repetition, and experience, this group has plenty of room to grow into some major players in the 2030 class.        [player_tooltip player_id='1860837' first='Lily' last='Canup'] is still in the early stages of developing her game, but she was a team-oriented player who responded well to instruction from the college coaches. She displayed decent speed getting up and down the floor, possessed good size and competed defensively. Canup also showed some awareness away from the ball by rotating over to provide help-side defense on several possessions.     [player_tooltip player_id='1871309' first='Brooke' last='Beasley'] put together a strong all-around performance, displaying good handles and the confidence to attack with either hand. She used a crossover to drive left, pushed the ball effectively in transition, and knocked down a three-pointer. Beasley also competed defensively and showed impressive hustle by saving a loose possession.     [player_tooltip player_id='1901649' first='Izabella' last='Jimenez'] was an aggressive young guard who consistently looked to attack the basket. She showed good quickness, pushed the ball effectively in transition, and stayed involved after her initial attempts. Although she was one of the smaller players on the court, Jimenez played with confidence and attacked the rim with a scorer's mentality.     [player_tooltip player_id='1851765' first='Olivia' last='Beyer'] made an impact on both ends of the floor with her activity and defensive instincts. She applied pressure, displayed quick hands, and made a strong attack toward the basket. Beyer connected on a three-pointer, showing her potential as a versatile offensive player who can score at all three levels.     [player_tooltip player_id='1246578' first='Laila' last='Watlington'] looked like a promising point guard with athleticism, ball-handling ability, and court vision. She advanced the ball effectively, recognized opportunities to make entry passes, and consistently penetrated the defense. Watlington showed good point-guard instincts and the young guard has the potential to develop into a good playmaker.     [player_tooltip player_id='1855796' first='Jordyn' last='Taylor'] used her height and athleticism to make several strong plays around the basket. On one play, she started on one side of the rim and finished on the other side, showing athleticism and creativity. She repeatedly penetrated the defense and finished strong around the rim. Her ability to get downhill and score through traffic was one of the more impressive parts of her performance.     [player_tooltip player_id='1784656' first='Liana' last='Obispo'] displayed a nice combination of size, speed, and developing perimeter skill. She penetrated along the baseline and found a teammate with a good pass. Obispo showed strong handles ands was comfortable maneuvering on the court with the ball in hand. Obispo confidently knocked down a jumper from the top of the key and showed a lot of potrential from the perimeter.     [player_tooltip player_id='1873173' first='Ryan' last='Radocaj'] was a strong and aggressive player who consistently attacked the basket. She ran the floor well, handled the ball in transition, and made good passes while advancing it. Radocaj also finished a layup, scored directly from a savvy inbound play, and scored on several strong drives to the rim.     [player_tooltip player_id='1878595' first='Abigail' last='Lanza'] possessed good size, moved well without the basketball, and showcased a lot of physical tools to work with - size and athleticism. She showed the ability to operate within the offense and still has room to develop her offensive game. Her size and mobility give her a solid foundation, and she is going to be a player to reckon with as her game continues to develop.     [player_tooltip player_id='1831994' first='Daynah' last='Anglin'] was one of the most naturally athletic players, displaying good size, strength, explosiveness, and bounce. She used those physical tools to make plays around the basket. Her shooting, ball-handling, and finishing are still developing, but she did enough damage that you could see that she is going to be a player on the offensive end of the floor. Anglin also showed the ability to be impactful on the defensive side of the ball- on the perimeter and in the paint.
