Hoop Her Showcase Gives A Glimpse of the Future

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 4th Annual Hoop Her Middle School Showcase was a well ran event featuring some of the top middle school players in the DMV and virtually every private high school coach and multiple AAU programs. She was active without the ball, consistently working to get open, cutting hard, and finding opportunities to finish at the basket. She made several good plays on the offensive end and also showed leadership during the drills, helping teammates get into the right positions. She showed good control with the ball and played well during the full-court games. She displayed a nice balance of inside-outside skill, showing the ability to make plays both off the dribble and around the basket. She also showed her shooting touch from deep, confidently knocking down a three. She handled pressure well and showed the versatility to be a capable perimeter player or initiate the offense after securing a rebound. She was impressive throughout the drill work, knocking down shots consistently and quickly picking up on the screen-and-roll actions being taught. Off the dribble, she attacked a little wide at times, which made it difficult for her to beat defenders with her initial move. However, she showed an impressive array of counter moves that allowed her to break down the defense, create separation, and get to her spots. Her combination of size, skill, and ability to adjust made her one of the more intriguing players in the gym.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
