Committing prior to your senior season alleviates a bunch of pressure and oftentimes allows players to play loose. Marlee is a returning All-State selection and should be a finalist for Miss Basketball in 2027. She is a lengthy and athletic guard who is one of the best shooters in the state. She can defend multiple positions and is an excellent rebounder. Last season Marlee averaged 19.4 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game. She shot 42.6% from the field, 36.4% from three, and 77.3% from the free-throw line.

Sammy is a terrific talent and could be a fantastic college recruit with the right fit. She is a long and incredibly athletic 5'9 guard. She does a little bit of everything and she does it well. I like her ability to impact the game on both sides of the floor. She shines defensively with her lateral quickness and ability to stay in gaps. She is an efficient offensive player who can score at the basket or stretch it out to the three-point line. She has All-WDA potential. Last season she averaged 9.4 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals per game. She shot 46.7% from the field, 46.5% from three, and 56% from the free-throw line.

Minot Majettes

Bartsch is the lone returning All-Conference player from last season's State Championship team. Minot will look quite a bit different this year but will still have enough firepower to compete each night. Kinley will be tasked with leading a bunch of eager young players this year. She has helped set the tone that winning is expected at Minot. She is a very savvy guard who is really efficient. She has one of the smoothest shots in the West. Kinley recently committed to play Division 2 hoops at Minot State University. Last season she averaged 10.6 points, 3.6 rebounds. 2.6 assists, and 1.6 steals. She shot 39.2% from the field, 38.1% from three, and 75.5% from the free-throw line.

Everette sustained a season ending injury after just playing three games last season. I am unsure of the severity of the injury but I am hopeful she gets the opportunity to show the West what they were missing last season. She is a really good player who will have a great shot at getting on the All-WDA team in 2027. She handles the ball well and has a good change of speed and direction. She is another fantastic shooter and can light it up from deep. In her three games last season she averaged 8.7 points, 4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.7 steals. She shot 42.9% from the field, 42.9% from three, and 83.3% from the free-throw line.

Jamestown Blue Jays

Macey continues to impress me and is at least a Division 2 prospect with a ceiling of Division 1 with continued improvement. She was one of many young stars in the WDA and earned an All-Conference nod last season. She should be a four time selection and should be a future All-State selection as well. She shoots it well from deep and doesn't make many mistakes. I appreciate her competitive nature and the edge she plays with. It is going to be a lot of fun to see how Macey progresses. Watching her last season it was hard to believe she was just a freshmen. Last season she averaged 16.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. She shot 41.4% from the field, 41% from three, and 86.3% from the free-throw line.

Braylee is another athlete who only played a limited amount of games last season, appearing in 10 contests. She had some limited minutes in those games but her potential as a player is as good as any I've seen. I was able to get eyes on her a handful of times this summer and was very impressed with what I saw. She is an exceptional athlete and has the frame of a college guard. She has the quickness, length, and jumping ability to have a very high ceiling. She has two more high school seasons and I think she is going to ball-out.

Getting to the state tournament is going to be a rock fight in the WDA. These are the teams that will be battling for the last two spots in 2027.
