Offseason Radar Watch Region 6-4A

Region 6-4A is full of some of the most talented players in the class of 4A. Here are five hoopers from the region to know ahead of the 2026-2027 school season.    [player_tooltip player_id='1572253' first='Nyla' last='Johnson'] can impact games from anywhere on the floor.   Johnson truly does have the capability of playing 1-5 on offense and defense depending on their team's matchup. She is at her best as a guard. With her size and IQ, she maneuvers around the floor well. Johnson knows when to attack open space and how to create space if need be.   Johnson can score at all three levels on the dribble and is an extra dynamic scorer in the paint. She can make reverse layups with ease as well as contested interior shots.     [player_tooltip player_id='1249229' first='Austin' last='Strange'], who is gearing up for her first year of high school hoops, is a player everyone should take note of.   Strange, although it will be her first year in high school, should be one of the better interior scoring threats in her region. At 6'3", she uses her size to her advantage. Strange is already good at executing post-up and pick-and-roll actions. She has elite touch around the basket, being able to score with both her right and left hands.   Strange is also a high-level rebounder. Every time she touches the court in the 2026-2027 season, she will be a double-double threat.     [player_tooltip player_id='1166692' first='Kaylee' last='Blood'] is another young center who is capable of putting together one of the better individual seasons by a center in her region.   Blood in her freshman season was a solid interior defender. She did a good job at affecting shots in the paint. With her size, even if a guard manages to maneuver around her, she is often able to still get a block or contest a shot with her wingspan, even while behind a play.   Blood, also at 6'2", showed the capability of being able to knock down perimeter jumpers. She is especially good at making them from the corners.     [player_tooltip player_id='822345' first='Madison' last='Zaitz'] is already a high-level player in her region. But she seems to have made a notable leap forward over the summer coming into her senior season.   One of the areas Zaitz has improved is her ability to create on the dribble. In isolation sets on the perimeter, she has a quick crossover that she can go to, and with her long strides, she is awfully hard to stop from getting to the basket. That element of her game could make her one of the best scorers in her region this season.   Zaitz pairs that part of her game with the ability to knock down perimeter shots with ease and an advanced post-up game. Zaitz has plus speed in the post. She also has great footwork that often helps her get good open looks when she goes into a post move.     [player_tooltip player_id='821812' first='Mia' last='Hauptman'] should be one of the go-to players for Page High School again going into the 2026-2027 season.   One of the main strengths of Hauptman's game is her perimeter shooting. She has a quick jumper with a high release point that keeps defenders playing further up on her than typical wing players. With that, Hauptman often has lanes to drive. She is a confident scorer going to the basket.   Hauptman's ability to read an overcloseout by a defender to drive is just one example of her being a good reactionary player. Another example is that if her teammate is forced to pick up their dribble on a drive, Hauptman can then make herself available by making a strong cut to the basket.
