PGH WA Freshman Showcase: All-Showcase Teams (Pt 1)

So many players stood out and fought hard the whole day, with over 60 athletes coming to play. She seals players quickly and can keep players on her hip with ease due to her strength. Ruud's footwork was outstanding, being able to get smooth buckets in a variety of ways. I had yet to seen her play at all but her versatility, energy, and fundamentals made her stand out. She was able to play anywhere effectively, attacking the rim from the perimeter using her size and length. She knocked down deep shots when left open but could also use her quick first step to get down-hill and get effective paint touches. She defended at a high level, playing with energy and sprinting to her spots at all times. She worked hard on the offensive side too, always moving to find open gaps to attack the bucket or knock down shots. She knows how to use her body well in the paint, boxing out strongly and not being afraid to get physical. Offensively, she has a soft touch around the rim to pair with excellent footwork to get open looks. She reads opposing players quickly, being able to use her agility to stay in front of the ball handler. On the offensive end, she has an elite shot from deep as she continued to hit shots all day long. She uses her speed off the first step to blow by defenders and keeps her eyes up to find open teammates on the outside. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
