She is an outstanding rebounder with a natural ability to anticipate where the ball is going, and those same instincts translate to the defensive end, particularly in the press. Emmerie reads passing lanes extremely well and can quickly turn a defensive play into a transition opportunity.

What continues to stand out is Emmerie’s willingness to take on whatever role her team needs. She can run the floor as a floor general, handle the ball and create for teammates, but she is equally comfortable stepping into a defensive role when her team needs a stop or battling for a crucial rebound. Whatever the team needs, she’s going to do what it takes to win. During the 5v5 games at the WA Freshman Showcase, she showed her versatility on her team consistently grabbing defensive boards and pushing the ball to the middle to find her teammates running the lane, helping her team to share the ball and work together. Her continued development as a ball-handler and scorer has added even more versatility to her game. She can use her quickness to attack taller defenders, get downhill and finish at the rim, while also continuing to expand her perimeter game. Emmerie has been putting work into her mid-range game and is becoming more comfortable knocking down jumpers, while also showing the ability to make shots from beyond the arc.

Emmerie is a true competitor who plays with the size, athleticism and versatility to impact winning in a variety of ways. Her combination of basketball IQ, instincts, competitiveness and ability to fill whatever role her team needs gives her the tools to play at the next level and makes her one of the most talented all-around players to watch in the 2030 class.

She has added more versatility as a ball-handler in the open court, including the ability to go behind her back and create opportunities for teammates in transition. She has also expanded her scoring arsenal with a reliable mid-range game, while using her quickness to square up against taller defenders and attack the basket. Walcolm’s combination of size, instincts, versatility and basketball IQ makes her one of the most talented, all-around players to watch in this freshman class.

Walcolm is a do it all prospect who is a complete player on both ends of the floor. She defends at a high level and gets involved in cleaning the glass. I really loved her physicality and finishing around the rim. Walcolm has the platform to be a big time prospect and coaches should start keeping a tab on her as she is a sure fire division 1 talent.
